1. Fuel-efficient driving strategies
Abstract : This thesis is concerned with fuel-efficient driving strategies for vehicles driving on roads with varying topography, as well as estimation of road grade and vehicle mass for vehicles utilizing such strategies. A framework referred to as speed profile optimization (SPO), is introduced for reducing the fuel or energy consumption of single vehicles (equipped with either combustion or electric engines) and platoons of several vehicles. 2. Estimation Using Low Rank Signal Models
Abstract : Designing estimators based on low rank signal models is a common practice in signal processing. Some of these estimators are designed to use a single low rank snapshot vector, while others employ multiple snapshots. This dissertation deals with both these cases in different contexts. READ MORE

3. Exploiting Prior Information in Parametric Estimation Problems for Multi-Channel Signal Processing Applications
Abstract : This thesis addresses a number of problems all related to parameter estimation in sensor array processing. The unifying theme is that some of these parameters are known before the measurements are acquired. READ MORE

4. Contributions to Signal Processing for MRI
Abstract : Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) is an important diagnostic tool for imaging soft tissue without the use of ionizing radiation. Moreover, through advanced signal processing, MRI can provide more than just anatomical information, such as estimates of tissue-specific physical properties. READ MORE

5. System Modeling Using Basis Functions and Application to Echo Cancelation
Abstract : This thesis concerns modeling of linear and nonlinear dynamic systems, where the applied models can be described by basis function expansions. In the first part of the thesis, the investigated model (or filter) structures and parameter estimation algorithms are described. READ MORE
