2. On the other side of the fence : multidisciplinary perspectives on intervention use to prevent large carnivore attacks on domestic animals in Sweden
Abstract : Large carnivore conservation in Sweden relies on land sharing in multi-use landscapes as carnivore populations mainly occur outside protected areas. Prevention of carnivore attacks on domestic animals is prioritised to mitigate potential carnivore impacts, and to mitigate conflicts between stakeholders over carnivore conservation. READ MORE

3. Recurrent and persistent low back pain : course and prevention
Abstract : Background: Non-specific low back pain (LBP) causes more disability than any other condition in the world. The need to understand the clinical course of LBP, develop effective strategies to manage and if possible prevent future episodes are greater than ever. READ MORE

4. Signal Processing for Robust and Real-Time fMRI With Application to Brain Computer Interfaces
Abstract : It is hard to find another research field than functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI) that combines so many different areas of research. Without the beautiful physics of MRI we would not have any images to look at in the first place. To get images with good quality it is necessary to fully understand the concepts of the frequency domain. READ MORE

5. Four contributions to statistical inference in econometrics
Abstract : This thesis, which consists of four chapters, focuses on three topics: discriminating between stationary and nonstationary time series, testing the constancy of the error covariance matrix of a vector model, and estimating density functions over bounded domains using kernel techniques. In Chapter 1, “Testing the unit root hypothesis against the logistic smooth transition autoregressive model”, and Chapter 2, “A nonlinear alternative to the unit root hypothesis”, the joint hypothesis of unit root and linearity allows one to distinguish between random walk processes, with or without drift, and stationary nonlinear processes of the smooth transition autoregressive type.
