1. In-line application of electric fields in capillary separation systems
Abstract : The magnitude of an electric field possible to apply in a capillary separation system is limited, because a high electric field causes a too high current through the capillary. Application of the electric field in-line will give an increased conductivity in the column, further increasing the risk of too high currents. READ MORE

2. Auroral Electric Fields From Satellite Observations and Numerical Modelling
Abstract : This thesis is about electrodynamics of thehigh-latitude/auroral region of near-Earth space. The work ismainly based on electric field measurements made by the doubleprobe instrument on the Freja satellite at altitudes ofapproximately 800-1700 km, together with measurements fromother instruments on the same satellite, and ground-basedinstrumentation. 3. An Experimental and Theoretical Study of the Mass Transport in Lithium-Ion Battery Electrolytes
Abstract : Lithium‐ion batteries are particularly suitable as energy storage solutions in high power applications, such as hybrid electric vehicles. It is generally considered that one of the processes that limit the power density for lithium‐ion batteries is the mass transport in the electrolyte. READ MORE

4. Electric Fields for Surface Design and Chemical Analysis
Abstract : This thesis deals with the use of electric fields for evaluation and control of chemical systems. An electric field can result in the flow of charge across an interface between a metal and a solution, by means of chemical reactions. This interplay between electricity and chemistry, i.e. READ MORE

5. Thermal conductivity of wide and ultra-wide bandgap semiconductors
Abstract : This PhD thesis presents experimental and theoretical studies of the thermal conductivity of wide and ultra-wide bandgap semiconductors including GaN, AlN, β-Ga2O3 binary compounds, and AlxGa1−xN, ScxAl1−xN, YxAl1−xN ternary alloys. Thermal conductivity measurements are conducted using the transient thermoreflectance (TTR) technique and the results are interpreted using analytical models based on the solution of the Boltzmann transport equation (BTE) within the relaxation time approximation (RTA).
