1. Bioelectronic Nanosensor Devices for Environmental and Biomedical Analysis
Abstract : A new type of Bioelectronic Nanosensor Device with potential applications in medicine, biotechnology and environmental analysis was designed. The nanosensor is based on RISFET (Regional Ion Sensitive Field Effect Transistor) technology. READ MORE

2. Optical properties of silver nanostructures prepared by electron beam lithography
Abstract : In this thesis, electron beam lithography (EBL) has been used to fabricate substrates for studies of nanoparticle optics, in particular for the investigation of noble metal nanoparticles and their tunable optical properties. The strong interaction of metal nanoparticles with light has its origin in the resonant excitation of collective oscillations of conduction electrons, so called localized surface plasmons (LSP). 3. Micro-Flow Reactors for Kinetic Studies of Model Catalysts made by Electron-Beam Lithography
Abstract : The main objective of this work is to explore the potential of using electron beam lithography (EBL) to prepare well defined supported model catalysts, which can be used for catalytic research. The work has involved three major areas (i) EBL-fabrication of catalysts, (ii) design of a micro-flow reactor for catalytic evaluation, and (iii) problem oriented research using EBL-fabricated model catalysts. 4. Nanometer Scale Protein Templates for Bionanotechnology Applications
Abstract : Nanofabrication techniques were used to manufacture nanometer scale protein templates. The fabrication approach employs electron beam lithography (EBL) patterning on poly(ethylene glycol) (PEG) thiol (CH3O(CH2CH2O)17NHCO(CH2)2SH) self-assembled monolayers (SAM) on Au. READ MORE

5. Single-Proton Irradiation of Living Cells - Development of New Tools for Low-Dose Radiation Research
Abstract : A Single-Ion Hit Facility (SIHF) consists of a custom-build facility based in particle accelerators which offers irradiation controlling the number of delivered particles with a precise targeting localization. The irradiation spot can be confined down to the nanometre scale allowing the irradiation of subcellular compartments with a single particle. READ MORE
