1. Λ-Λ hyperons: the road to estimate the production cross-section in protonproton collisions
Abstract : In this study, we analyse the $\Lambda$-$\Lambda$ hyperon channel in proton-proton scattering, $pp \mapsto \Lambda\Lambda + K^+K^+, \,\,\Lambda\mapsto p+\pi^-$, with a proton beam energy of $4.5$ GeV using the High Acceptance Di-Electron Spectrometer (HADES) at GSI. READ MORE

2. Mechanisms of Anion Reactions from the lab to ionospheres
Abstract : A multitude of heavy neutral and ionic molecules have been discovered by the Cassini Plasma Spectrometer in the ionosphere of Saturn's largest moon Titan. However, only three cyano anions were explicitly identified there, namely CN-, C3N- and C5N-. READ MORE

3. Electron Recombination with Small Molecular Ions
Abstract : In this thesis I have theoretically studied electron recombination processes with small molecular ions. In these kind of processes resonant states are involved. To calculate the potential energy for these states as a function of internuclear distance, structure calculations and scattering calculations have to be performed. READ MORE

4. Characterizing cavity containing materials using electron microscopy : A study of metal oxides, mesoporous crystals and porous material containing nanosized metal-particles
Abstract : This thesis concerns the characterization of novel materials by utilizing electron microscopy techniques. The examined materials contain cavities with certain attributes that enables desired properties for applications such as gas separation, catalysis and fuel cells. READ MORE

5. Electron transport in quaternized cross-linked poly(4-vinylpyridine) films containing trapped redox molecules : experimental and theoretical aspects that concern identification of electron translation mechanisms
Abstract : This thesis deals with the identification of electron translation mechanisms in quaternized cross-linked poly(4-vinylpyridine) films containing trapped redox molecules. Experimental aspects, such as the determination of the total amounts of electroactive species within the films, measurements of electrochemical rate parameters and ellipsometric film thickness evaluation, are discussed together with theoretical models that predict different mechanisms of charge transport.
