  1. 1. Modelling and measuring transport in fusion plasmas

    Author : Istvan Pusztai; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; fusion plasmas; ITG stability; microinstabilities; de-convolution; Lorentz operator; gyrokinetic equation; transport; quasilinear flux; beam emission spectroscopy; ion temperature gradient mode; electron density measurement; trapped electron response;

    Abstract : In the present thesis we consider theoretical and experimental aspects of the turbulent transport which is a crucial issue in fusion plasma physics.Experimental observations and gyrokinetic simulations show that collisions strongly influence the turbulent flux of particles. 3. 3. Attosecond interferometry: techniques and spectroscopy

    Author : David Kroon; Atomfysik; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Fysicumarkivet A:2016:Kroon; Electron wave packet; Attosecond Pulse trains; Photoionization; Photoemission time delay; High-order harmonic generation; Interferometry; Electron dynamics;

    Abstract : The interaction between an intense laser pulse and a gas medium leads to the emission of coherent bursts of light in the extreme ultraviolet range. This process, known as high-order harmonic generation, has today, almost three decades after its discovery, developed into a reliable source of extremely short (on the order of 100 as) pulses of electromagnetic radiation, with a wide range of applications in the atomic, molecular and optical sciences. 4. 4. Quantum transport and geometric integration for molecular systems

    Author : Anders Odell; Anna Delin; Anders Niklasson; Michael Springborg; KTH; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; density functional theory; ab initio; first principles; electron transport; photoswitching; molecular dynamics; geometric integration; Condensed matter physics; Kondenserade materiens fysik; Computational physics; Beräkningsfysik;

    Abstract : Molecular electronics is envisioned as a possible next step in device miniaturization. It is usually taken to mean the design and manufacturing of electronic devices and applications where organic molecules work as the fundamental functioning unit. READ MORE

  5. 5. Attosecond photoelectron interferometry: from wavepackets to density matrices

    Author : Hugo Laurell; Atomfysik; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Quantum state tomography; Decoherence; Photoionization; Fysicumarkivet A:2023:Laurell;

    Abstract : Through the advent of high-order harmonic generation and attosecond light pulses, photoionization dynamics has been studied on the attosecond time-scale, the intrinsic time-scale of such dynamics. When the electron leaves the atomic potential a phase shift is imprinted on the electron wavefunction. READ MORE
