21. Attosecond Optical and Electronic Wave Packets
Abstract : When a low-frequency laser pulse is focused to a high intensity in a gas, the electric field of the laser may become comparable to, or even exceed, the electric field between the electrons and the nucleus in the atom. Under such conditions, through a process known as high-order harmonic generation, bursts of extreme ultraviolet radiation may be emitted, with durations in the attosecond domain (1 as = 10^{-18} s), which is the time-scale of electronic processes. 22. Probing Dynamics of Oligosaccharides by Interference Phenomena in NMR Relaxation
Abstract : Oligosaccharides (carbohydrates) are a large class of biological molecules that are important as energy sources in the human body and have enormously varied biological functions. It is generally believed that biological activities of carbohydrates are related to their internal dynamics. READ MORE

23. On a novel technique for preparation and analysis of the implant surface and its interface to bone
Abstract : The ultrastructural and biomechanical properties of the bone-implant interface are important factors for implant performance. For further understanding of the osseointegration process novel tools enabling analysis of the intact interface in high resolution is needed, preferably combined with histology and biomechanical tests. 24. Time-resolved x-ray diffraction of nanostructured samples
Abstract : The work presented in this thesis is based on time-resolved x-ray diffraction studies of InSb (111) samples. The experiments were carried out using a pump-probe configuration using short laser pulses as the pump and x-rays as the probe. Laser excitation leads to the formation of a strain pulse that propagates through the sample. READ MORE

25. Experimental approaches to powder filling and lubrication in powder die pressing
Abstract : There is a continuous need to improve the mechanical properties of steel parts produced through powder metallurgy in order to ensure the market growth of this sector and competitiveness against alternative production techniques. One of the more promising routes able to achieve this is to aim for components with higher densities. READ MORE
