  1. 1. Electronic materials : growth and characterisation

    Author : Michael A. Grishin; Ulf O. Karlsson; Massimo Sancrotti; KTH; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Electrophysics; Photoemission; Ultra-short laser pulse; Thin film; Laser deposition; InSb; InAs; GaSb; Ferroelectrics; Elektrofysik; Electrophysics; Elektrofysik;

    Abstract : In this thesis the InSb(111), InAs(111) and GaSb(001) surfaces have been studied by means of time- and angle-resolved photoemission spectroscopy based upon the femtosecond laser system. The pump-and-probe technique allows to analyse both electron states in the valence band and normally unpopulated electron states above the valence band, which can be occupied by transiently excited carriers at the optically pumped surface. 2. 2. AlN Thin Film Electroacoustic Devices

    Author : Gonzalo Fuentes Iriarte; I.V. Katardjiev; G.F. Iriarte; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Electrical engineering; Elektroteknik; elektronik och fotonik; Electrical engineering; electronics and photonics; Elektroteknik; elektronik och fotonik; elektronik; Electronics;

    Abstract : Recently, the enormous growth in personal communications systems (PCS), satellite communication and various other forms of wireless data communication has made analogue frequency control a key issue as the operation frequency increases to the low/medium GHz range. Surface acoustic wave (SAW) and bulk acoustic wave (BAW) electroacoustic devices are widely used today in a variety of applications both in consumer electronics as well as in specialized scientific and military equipment where frequency control is required. 3. 3. Electronic Labyrinths : An Archaeology of Videographic Cinema

    Author : Jonathan Rozenkrantz; Trond Lundemo; Malin Wahlberg; Patricia Pisters; Stockholms universitet; []
    Keywords : HUMANIORA; HUMANITIES; videographic cinema; video images in films; media archaeology; imaginary media; media imaginaries; live television drama; video therapy; video surveillance; video art; reality TV; mediated memories; media history; YouTube; retro; analogue nostalgia; filmvetenskap; Cinema Studies;

    Abstract : This study scans six decades of film history in search for video images, the imaginaries within which they are framed, and (taking cues from the archaeological methods of Friedrich Kittler and Michel Foucault) their technical, historical, and institutional conditions of existence. The British experimental science fiction film Anti-Clock (Jane Arden and Jack Bond, 1979) revolves around a video device with the capacity to confront subjects with their own repressed memory images. 4. 4. From Motion Pictures to Robotic Features : Adopting film sound design practices to foster sonic expression in social robotics through interactive sonification

    Author : Adrian Benigno Latupeirissa; Roberto Bresin; Kjetil Falkenberg; Iolanda Leite; KC Collins; KTH; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; HUMANIORA; HUMANITIES; human-robot interaction; social robotics; film sound design; robot sound; interactive sonification; människa-robotinteraktion; social robotik; filmljuddesign; robotljud; interaktiv sonifiering; Media Technology; Medieteknik;

    Abstract : This dissertation investigates the role of sound design in social robotics, drawing inspiration from robot depictions in science-fiction films. It addresses the limitations of robots’ movements and expressive behavior by integrating principles from film sound design, seeking to improve human-robot interaction through expressive gestures and non-verbal sounds. 5. 5. Electrolyte-Gated Organic Thin-Film Transistors

    Author : Lars Herlogsson; Magnus Berggren; Hagen Klauk; Linköpings universitet; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Organic electronics; Thin-film transistor; Organic semiconductor; Polymer; Electrolyte; Polyelectrolyte; Electronics; Elektronik;

    Abstract : There has been a remarkable progress in the development of organic electronic materials since the discovery of conducting polymers more than three decades ago. Many of these materials can be processed from solution, in the form as inks. READ MORE
