  1. 1. Electronic materials : growth and characterisation

    Author : Michael A. Grishin; Ulf O. Karlsson; Massimo Sancrotti; KTH; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Electrophysics; Photoemission; Ultra-short laser pulse; Thin film; Laser deposition; InSb; InAs; GaSb; Ferroelectrics; Elektrofysik; Electrophysics; Elektrofysik;

    Abstract : In this thesis the InSb(111), InAs(111) and GaSb(001) surfaces have been studied by means of time- and angle-resolved photoemission spectroscopy based upon the femtosecond laser system. The pump-and-probe technique allows to analyse both electron states in the valence band and normally unpopulated electron states above the valence band, which can be occupied by transiently excited carriers at the optically pumped surface. 2. 2. Electronic Tounges : New Sensor Technology in Household Appliances

    Author : Patrik Ivarsson; Andrey Legin; Linköpings universitet; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY;

    Abstract : This thesis deals with a method to optimise the water, energy, and detergent consumption in a dishwasher and washing machine. A new sensor system, the voltammetric electronic tongue has been the key factor in the research. READ MORE

  3. 3. Electronic Labyrinths : An Archaeology of Videographic Cinema

    Author : Jonathan Rozenkrantz; Trond Lundemo; Malin Wahlberg; Patricia Pisters; Stockholms universitet; []
    Keywords : HUMANIORA; HUMANITIES; videographic cinema; video images in films; media archaeology; imaginary media; media imaginaries; live television drama; video therapy; video surveillance; video art; reality TV; mediated memories; media history; YouTube; retro; analogue nostalgia; filmvetenskap; Cinema Studies;

    Abstract : This study scans six decades of film history in search for video images, the imaginaries within which they are framed, and (taking cues from the archaeological methods of Friedrich Kittler and Michel Foucault) their technical, historical, and institutional conditions of existence. The British experimental science fiction film Anti-Clock (Jane Arden and Jack Bond, 1979) revolves around a video device with the capacity to confront subjects with their own repressed memory images. 4. 4. Electronic Potlatch : A study concerning new technologies and primitive economic behaviors

    Author : Alf Rehn; KTH; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; general economy; gift economies; gifts; potlatch; warez; play; excess; software piracy; Industrial engineering and economy; Industriell teknik och ekonomi;

    Abstract : Economy - the very idea. In an age where the market economy seems to have achieved a total and omnipresent hegemony, there would seem to be little to discuss anymore. Going against this, the book argues for a sensitivity to other forms of economies,and the hybrids existing in our postindustrial society. READ MORE

  5. 5. Electromagnetic characterization of power electronic systems

    Author : Mathias Enohnyaket; Mats Alaküla; Luleå tekniska universitet; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Industriell elektronik; Industrial Electronics;

    Abstract : Propelled by increased global awareness and demand for clean energy systems, there is a growing trend in transportation, utility, industrial, and residential applications towards the utilisation of power electronic systems with enhanced power ow controllability and eciency. Examples of power electronics applications include terminal converters in high-voltage direct Current (HVDC) transmission; exible AC transmission systems (FACTS); and converters to interface alternative energy systems such as wind turbines to the grid, variable-speed motor drives in pump systems, vehicular propulsion systems, air-conditioners, and refrigerators.
