1. MIMO Decoding Algorithm and Implementation
Abstract : Multi-Input Multi-Output system has been one of the hot technologies for future wireless communications, since it can increase the capacity (coverage or link quality in other senses) at no cost in frequency spectrum. This doctoral thesis investigates improvements to MIMO decoding algorithms and presents VLSI implementation results. READ MORE

2. Integrated Communications and Thermal Management Systems for Microsystem-based Spacecraft : A Multifunctional Microsystem Approach
Abstract : This thesis explores the potential of multifunctional silicon-based microsystems for advanced integrated nanospacecraft (AIN). Especially, multifunctional microsystems with the coexistant functions of communications and thermal management implemented in multilayer silicon stacks are approached with systems study. READ MORE

3. AlN Thin Film Electroacoustic Devices
Abstract : Recently, the enormous growth in personal communications systems (PCS), satellite communication and various other forms of wireless data communication has made analogue frequency control a key issue as the operation frequency increases to the low/medium GHz range. Surface acoustic wave (SAW) and bulk acoustic wave (BAW) electroacoustic devices are widely used today in a variety of applications both in consumer electronics as well as in specialized scientific and military equipment where frequency control is required. 4. AlN and High-k Thin Films for IC and Electroacoustic Applications
Abstract : Further, a highly selective dry etch process for etching Al on AlN has been developed for the fabrication of MIM, MIS, SAW and BAW test structures for electrical and electroacoustic characterization of the films. A dielectric constant of 10 for AlN and 25 for Ti doped Ta2O5 have been measured. READ MORE
