  1. 1. Wind-turbine harmonic emissions and propagation through a wind farm

    Author : Kai Yang; Luleå tekniska universitet; []
    Keywords : ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Renewable energy; Electric power system; Wind power; Power quality; Power system harmonics; Technology - Electrical engineering; electronics and photonics; Teknikvetenskap - Elektroteknik; elektronik och fotonik; Electric Power Engineering; Elkraftteknik; Energy Engineering; Energiteknik;

    Abstract : The increasing demand for sustainable energy is one of the driving forces behind the increasing use of wind power by means of wind-turbines in electric power systems. Modern wind turbines commonly employ variable-speed-generator technology associated with a power-electronic converter as part of the grid connection. READ MORE

    Abstract : The use of electricity from Distributed Energy Resources like wind and solar powerwill impact the performance of the electricity network and this sets a limit to theamount of such renewables that can be connected. Investment in energy storage andcommunication technologies enables more renewables by operating the networkcloser to its limits. READ MORE

  4. 4. Fabrication and Characterization of Silicon Carbide Power Bipolar Junction Transistors

    Author : Hyung-Seok Lee; Carl-Mikael Zetterling; Tat-Sing Chow; KTH; []
    Keywords : ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; silicon carbide; power device; BJT; current gain; specific on resistance RSP_ON ; breakdown voltage; forward voltage drop; surface recombination; ohmic contact.; Electrical engineering; electronics and photonics; Elektroteknik; elektronik och fotonik;

    Abstract : Silicon carbide bipolar junction transistors (BJTs) are attractive power switching devices because of the unique material properties of SiC with high breakdown electric field, high thermal conductivity and high saturated drift velocity of electrons. The SiC BJT has potential for very low specific on-resistances and this together with high temperature operation makes it very suitable for applications with high power densities. READ MORE

  5. 5. The Effects of Lightning on Low Voltage Power Networks

    Author : Raul Montaño; Vernon Cooray; Marcos Rubinstein; Uppsala universitet; []
