6. Ethyl(hydroxyethyl)cellulose and Some Model Uncharged Polymers: A Calorimetric Study of Their Interaction with Surfactants in Aqueous Solution
Abstract : The interactions between uncharged polymers, e.g. ethyl(hydroxylethyl)cellulose (EHEC) and some model polymers, and ionic surfactants in aqueous solution has been studied by using isothermal titration and differential scanning calorimetry. READ MORE

7. A first-principles approach to protein–ligand interaction
Abstract : It is still impossible to make an accurate, purely theoretical prediction of the free energy of a ligand binding to a protein in aqueous environment. The two main problems are the immense number of nuclear configurations contributing to the binding free energy and the impossibility to apply accurate quantum-chemical methods to such a large system, even for a single configuration. 8. Interaction Between Antimicrobial Peptides and Phospholipid Membranes : Effects of Peptide Length and Composition
Abstract : Due to increasing problems with bacterial resistance development, there is a growing need for identifying new types of antibiotics. Antimicrobial peptides constitute an interesting group of substances for this purpose, since they are believed to act mainly by disrupting the bacterial membrane, which is a fast and non-specific mechanism. 9. The Influence of Polyelectrolytes on the Stability of Colloids
Abstract : The interaction between two colloids with grafted polyelectrolytes in aqueous solution is studied within the primitive model by Monte Carlo simulations. For neutral colloids with grafted polyelectrolytes and in absence of salt the interaction is strongly repulsive in absence of salt. READ MORE

10. Chromatographic Studies of Solute Interactions with Immobilized Red Blood Cells and Biomembranes
Abstract : Specific and non-specific interactions of solutes with immobilized biomembranes were studied using chromatographic methods. Liposomes, proteoliposomes and red blood cell (RBC) membrane vesicles were immobilized by a freeze-thawing procedure, whereas whole RBCs were adsorbed in the gel beds using electrostatic interaction, binding to wheat germ agglutinin (WGA) or the streptavidin-biotin interaction.
