    Abstract : This thesis analyses how the Swedish forest industry has (re)acted regarding the energy transition and, in particular, regarding the reconstruction of the electricity and forest resources in Sweden during the 1989–2009 period. The thesis consists of four papers that analyse how the Swedish forest industry by means of energy management practices at individual pulp and/or paper mills, in corporate strategies performed by CEOs and boards of directors, and via its industry association, has dealt with mounting political and public demands for the industry to become ‘greener’. 2. 2. Renewables Based Polygeneration for Rural Development in Bangladesh

    Author : MD. Ershad Ullah Khan; Andrew R. Martin; Semida Silveira; Peter Hagström; Jochen Bundschuh; Erik Ahlgren; Marcus Öhman; Monica Odlare; Lasse Aistrup Rosendahl; KTH; []
    Keywords : ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Anaerobic digester; solar PV; polygeneration; cooking gas; gas engine; electricity; membrane distillation; arsenic safe water; Anaerobisk rötkammare; solceller; polygenerering; matlagningsgas; gasmotor; elektricitet; membrandestillering; arsenikfritt vatten; Energiteknik; Energy Technology;

    Abstract : Despite the country's rural electrification programme, kerosene is the predominant source for lighting, and unsustainable and polluting woody biomass is virtually the only option available for cooking. The rural population also struggles with unsafe drinking water in terms of widespread arsenic contamination of well water. READ MORE

  4. 4. Restructured district heating price models and their impact on district heating users

    Author : Jingjing Song; Björn Karlsson; Fredrik Wallin; Hailong Li; Heimo Zinko; Mälardalens högskola; []
    Keywords : ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; district heating; restructured price model; price model survey; pricing strategy; consumption profile; consumption pattern; alternative cost; Energy- and Environmental Engineering; energi- och miljöteknik;

    Abstract : District heating (DH) is considered to be an efficient, environmentally friendly and cost-effective method for providing heat to buildings, since electricity is usually co-generated in biomass fuelled combined heat and power (CHP) plants. This gives it an important role in the mitigation of climate change. READ MORE

  5. 5. Light polarization in single molecule spectroscopy: From visualization of structural anisotropy and energy transfer to super-resolution imaging with orientational contrast

    Author : Daniel Thomsson; Kemisk fysik; []
