1. Recycling and durability of PVC materials focusing on pre- and post-consumer wastes from building products
Abstract : The potential for recycling various polymeric materials contained within buildings constructed in the late 1960s and 1970s in Sweden was investigated during the course of this work. Three residential blocks were studied to establish the quantity of materials available for recycling, to investigate the difficulty in and time needed for the dismantling of the buildings, the degree of purity of the materials, and the possibility of separating the materials. 2. Characterization of Budding Yeast Nonhomologous End-Joining at DNA Double-Strand Breaks and Telomeres
Abstract : The yeast K. lactis efficiently integrates DNA by illegitimate recombination (IR). IR was completely dependent upon nonhomologous end-joining (NHEJ). In contrast to S. READ MORE

3. Transcription Associated Recombination in Mammalian Cells
Abstract : There is increasing evidence that the movement of the transcription machinery through DNA has profound effects on the genomic stability. One such example is a phenomenon known as Transcription Associated Recombination (TAR). Transcription enhances recombination levels to a high degree in all organisms studied, from bacteria to mammals. READ MORE

4. Material recycling of post-consumer flexible polyethylene packaging waste
Abstract : The mechanical and thermal properties of recycled post-consumer flexible polyethylene packaging waste was studied, using material collected and sorted on a large-scale from two sources. Unwashed, laboratory-scale washed, industrial-scale washed, and industrial-scale washed and melt-compounded (industrially recycled) materials were used. READ MORE

5. Mechanical Properties of Liquid Crystal Polymer Fibres
Abstract : Fibres of thermotropic liquid crystalline polymers (LCP) and its blends containing a random coil polymer LCP have been spun at low draw ratio at different temperatures and shear rates. Their mechanical properties have been studied in detail. READ MORE
