1. Design and Security Analysis of TRNGs and PUFs
Abstract : True Random Number Generators (TRNGs) and Physical Unclonable Functions (PUFs) are two important types of cryptographic primitives. TRNGs create a hardware-based, non-deterministic noise that is often used for generating keys, initialization vectors, and nonces for various applications that require cryptographic protection. 2. Examining the prostate stroma and vasculature : importance and potential as targets for therapy
Abstract : Background. Recent studies in cancer research have focused on the reciprocal interaction between cancer cells and their microenvironment. Tumour growth is angiogenesis dependent and the rate of angiogenesis correlates with a poor prognosis in many different cancers. READ MORE

3. Power-generation, Power-electronics and Power-systems issues of Power Converters for Photovoltaic Applications
Abstract : The thesis deals with issues related to solar energy systems, or more specifically, the electric systems of photovoltaic (PV) installations. Initially aspects of planning and estimating the performance of a PV-installation are considered. READ MORE

4. 2nd and 3rd generation electrodes for biosensors and biofuel cells
Abstract : The catalytic and electrochemical properties of tryptophan repressor-binding protein (WrbA), pyranose dehydrogenase (PDH), cellobiose dehydrogenase (CDH) and glucose dehydrogenase (GDH) on carbon electrodes were investigated using cyclic voltammetry and flow injection amperometry to construct biosensors and biofuel cell (BFC) anodes. WrbA has a catalytic FMN-containing domain whereas both PDH and GDH have a catalytic FAD-containing domains. READ MORE

5. Regulation and function of thioredoxin reductase 1 in human tumor cells
Abstract : The thioredoxin system is a general protein disulfide reductase system present in all organisms. Its function is to maintain an intracellular reducing environment and upholding a defense against reactive oxygen species generated as by-products of aerobic metabolism. READ MORE
