21. Neurochemical regulators of the septohippocampal pathway : role in spatial and aversive learning
Abstract : The aim of this thesis was to investigate the significance of major neurotransmitters in the septohippocampal pathway for hippocampal-dependent learning and memory. The cholinergic and GABAergic neurons in the medial septal/vertical limb of the diagonal band of Broca area (MS/vDB) projecting to the hippocampus, constitute the septohippocampal pathway, which has been implicated in a number of important functions such as attention, anxietylike behavior and hippocampal-dependent learning and memory. 22. Influenza A virus infection and NMDA receptor function : a behavioral and molecular study of relevance for schizophrenia
Abstract : Schizophrenia is a neuropsychiatric disorder characterized by positive and negative symptoms, as well as cognitive dysfunctions. There is no single cause of schizophrenia, instead complex combinations of genetic and environmental factors may contribute to the disorder, including exposure to viral infections or other environmental insults during early life. 23. Hippocampal circuit dynamics in learning and value processing of sensory cues : A study into the function of hippocampal microcircuits involving OLMα2 cells
Abstract : The anatomical signatures of the mnemonic/emotional processes share many brain structures, one of which seems to constitute a bridge, the hippocampus. It functions as a structure that consolidates engrams. It is connected to the prefrontal cortex, nucleus accumbens and amygdala, structures that provide emotional salience. READ MORE

24. Offenders with mental disorder : psychosocial and neurobiological aspects
Abstract : The main hypothesis of this thesis is that certain functions, or symptoms, in mentally disordered offenders are connected to biological correlates. There is no specific diagnosis that explains antisocial or violent behaviour. Among offenders some functions or symptoms are considered more common, such as impulsivity and reduced empathy. READ MORE

25. Neurocognitive modelling of human decision making
Abstract : A central issue related to climate change and the path to a low carbon society is how we can change our attitudes and associated behavioral patterns. This type of decisions is concerned with how complex systems can be dealt with, conceptually, psychologically, as well as socially. READ MORE
