  1. 1. Techniques for Efficient Implementation of FIR and Particle Filtering

    Author : Syed Asad Alam; Oscar Gustafsson; Kent Palmkvist; Yajun Yu; Linköpings universitet; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; FIR filter; Particle filter; architecture; ASIC; FPGA;

    Abstract : FIR filters occupy a central place many signal processing applications which either alter the shape, frequency or the sampling frequency of the signal. FIR filters are used because of their stability and possibility to have linear-phase but require a high filter order to achieve the same magnitude specifications as compared to IIR filters. 2. 2. Controlling Charge and Energy Transfer Processes in Artificial Photosynthesis : From Picosecond to Millisecond Dynamics

    Author : Magnus Borgström; Leif Hammarström; Jan Davidsson; Sebastiano Campagna; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Physical chemistry; Artificial photosynthesis; Electron transfer; Energy transfer; Ruthenium; Manganese; Charge-separated state; Donor-acceptor; Fysikalisk kemi; Physical chemistry; Fysikalisk kemi;

    Abstract : This thesis describes an interdisciplinary project, where the aim is to mimic the initial reactions in photosynthesis. In photosynthesis, the absorption of light is followed by the formation of charge-separated states. The energy stored in these charge-separated states is further used for the oxidation of water and reduction of carbon dioxide. READ MORE

  3. 3. On Machine Learning-Based Control for Energy Management in Construction Machines

    Author : Henrique Raduenz; Petter Krus; Victor Juliano De Negri; Liselott Ericson; Jouni Mattila; Linköpings universitet; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Machine Learning; Energy Management; Construction Machines; Aprendizado de Máquina; Gerenciamento de Energia; Máquinas de Construção;

    Abstract : High energy efficiency is a key requirement for modern construction machinery. This is because of stricter environmental targets, electrification, and reduction of operation costs. READ MORE

  4. 4. Leveraging Existing Microarchitectural Structures to Improve First-Level Caching Efficiency

    Author : Ricardo Alves; David Black-Schaffer; Stefanos Kaxiras; Mattan Erez; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Energy Efficient Caching; Memory Architecture; Single Thread Performance; First-Level Caching; Out-of-Order Pipelines; Instruction Scheduling; Filter-Cache; Way-Prediction; Value-Prediction; Register-Sharing.;

    Abstract : Low-latency data access is essential for performance. To achieve this, processors use fast first-level caches combined with out-of-order execution, to decrease and hide memory access latency respectively. READ MORE

  5. 5. Performance and Energy Efficient Network-on-Chip Architectures

    Author : Sriram Vangal; Atila Alvandpour; Wim Dehaene; Linköpings universitet; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Chips; MOS transistors; Network-on-Chip NoC ; process technology; FPMAC; Electrical engineering; Elektroteknik;

    Abstract : The scaling of MOS transistors into the nanometer regime opens the possibility for creating large Network-on-Chip (NoC) architectures containing hundreds of integrated processing elements with on-chip communication. NoC architectures, with structured on-chip networks are emerging as a scalable and modular solution to global communications within large systems-on-chip. READ MORE
