  1. 1. Urban Building Energy Modeling for Retrofit Scenarios : Development, Calibration, Validation and Implementation for Swedish Residential Buildings

    Author : Fatemeh Johari; Joakim Widén; Darren Robinson; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Urban building energy modeling; Urban building energy retrofit; Urban energy system; Urban energy planning; Energy performance certificate; Energy efficiency; low-energy cities; Engineering Science with specialization in Civil Engineering and Built Environment; Teknisk fysik med inriktning mot byggteknik och byggd miljö;

    Abstract : The necessity for an accelerated transition of urban energy systems and, in particular, the building sector toward energy efficiency and carbon neutrality poses new challenges to planning and retrofitting existing buildings. To cope with these challenges, so-called urban building energy models (UBEMs) have been introduced for quantifying the energy demand in the building sector, identifying the hot spots of energy use and suggesting scenarios for retrofitting the buildings. Abstract : Sweden aims to become one of the first fossil-free welfare countries in the world. In 2009, specific energy and climate policy targets were announced for 2020, which exceed the ambition of respective EU targets in some areas. READ MORE

  4. 4. Electrification in Process Industry - The Role of Process Integration and Future Energy Market Conditions

    Author : Holger Wiertzema; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; electrification; bottom-up assessment; energy-intensive process industries; oxo synthesis; oil refining; energy market scenarios; techno-economic assessment; chemical industry;

    Abstract : Electrification of industrial processes is a frequently discussed strategy to reduce greenhouse gas emissions from energy-intensive process industries and is highlighted in many roadmap studies. Electricity is a versatile energy carrier that enables a broad variety of options in which existing process unit operations are replaced with electricity-driven alternatives. READ MORE

  5. 5. Planning production and supply chain in energy intensive process industries

    Author : Martin Waldemarsson; Helene Lidestam; Martin Rudberg; Magnus Karlsson; Sophie D'Amours; Linköpings universitet; []
