  1. 1. Diesel Engine Modeling for Engine Management System Development

    Author : Markus Grahn; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Engine control; Diesel engines; Engine management system; Emissions; Simulation; Optimization; Modeling;

    Abstract : Due to increasingly strict emission legislation and stronger demands on fuel consumption, typical passenger car diesel engines become increasingly complex with more and more controllable systems added. These added systems open up for the possibility to operate the engine at more efficient conditions, but it also becomes more challenging to optimize the settings in the engine management system. Abstract : The modeling work developed in this thesis can be divided in two main areas of investigations: autoignition related to spark ignition engine and combustion and emissions formation in relation to diesel engines. A first version of a detailed kinetics engine simulation program, extended to handle full cycle calculations, was employed in order to demonstrate the strong effect that nitric oxide from the residual gas has on the autoignition onset. 4. 4. Challenges in aero engine performance modeling

    Author : Sebastian Samuelsson; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; part-load modeling; Aero engine; conceptual design; performance modeling; multidisciplinary design;

    Abstract : There is a continuous drive for ever more efficient aero engines due to environmental as well as economical concerns. As the technology of conventional turbofan engines matures, there is a need for new aero engine concepts as well as incremental improvement of existing technologies. READ MORE

  5. 5. Thermodynamic Simulation of HCCI Engine Systems

    Author : Olof Erlandsson; Förbränningsmotorer; []
