6. Production of polyhydroxyalkanoates in biological treatment of industrial wastewaters
Abstract : In search of more environmentally friendly polymer materials, polyhydroxyalkanoates (PHAs) have been considered as promising candidates. PHAs exhibit a broad range of material properties, can be produced from renewable resources and are completely biodegradable. READ MORE

7. Black liquor gasification : experimental stability studies of smelt components and refractory lining
Abstract : Black liquors are presently combusted in recovery boilers where the inorganic cooking chemicals are recovered and the energy in the organic material is converted to steam and electricity. A new technology, developed by Chemrec AB, is black liquor gasification (BLG). READ MORE

8. Thermodynamic Study of Co-Cr and C-Co-Cr Systems
Abstract : An experimental investigation of the binary system Co-Cr and the ternary system C-Co-Cr has been carried out in the present thesis. The experimental strategy adopted for the binary system was to measure the thermodynamic activities of Cr, the molar heat capacity as function of time, the phase transformation temperatures with corresponding enthalpies, the Curie transition temperature as well as melting temperatures with corresponding enthalpies. 9. On the stability of proteins from hyperthermophiles : a structural and thermodynamic study
Abstract : In this study the structural and thermodynamic basis of the thermal stability of proteins has been studied using proteins from hyperthermophilic organisms as model systems. A new type of chaperonin (TF55) has been isolated from the hyperthermophilic archaeon Sulfolobus solfataricus consisting of two different subunits named TF55-alpha and TF55-beta. READ MORE

10. Development, validation and application of an effective convectivity model for simulation of melt pool heat transfer in a light water reactor lower head
Abstract : Severe accidents in a Light Water Reactor (LWR) have been a subject of the research for the last three decades. The research in this area aims to further understanding of the inherent physical phenomena and reduce the uncertainties surrounding their quantification, with the ultimate goal of developing models that can be applied to safety analysis of nuclear reactors.
