1. Resource and Environmental Impacts of Resource-Efficiency Measures Applied to Electronic Products
Abstract : Natural resources such as ecosystems, land, water and metals underpin the functioning of economies and human well-being, and are becoming increasingly scarce due to growth in population and affluence. Metals are increasingly demanded for their specific properties as modern technology develops. READ MORE

2. Assessing the future environmental impact of lignin-based and recycled carbon fibres in composites using life cycle assessment
Abstract : Carbon fibre reinforced polymers (CFRPs) are composite materials that are gaining attention for their lightweighting and strengthening properties in a wide range of applications. However, using them instead of conventional materials (such as steel or other composites) does not automatically lead to a decrease in life cycle climate impact or energy use. READ MORE

3. Environmental levels of thallium : influence of redox properties and anthropogenic sources
Abstract : Thallium is a highly toxic element that humans are exposed to mainly by consumption of drinking water and vegetables grown in soil with high thallium content but also through inhalation of particles in the air. Thallium is also present in fossil fuels, alloys, and in electronic utilities. READ MORE

4. Drivers of carbon sink function in tropical seagrass beds : influence of carbon import, plant composition, seascape configuration and human activities
Abstract : Seagrass meadows are effective carbon sinks, sequestering atmospheric CO2 and capturing allochthonous organic material, storing organic carbon (Corg) in their sediments, so called Blue Carbon. In tropical areas, seagrass meadows have a high number of calcareous organisms, which can offset carbon sequestration by releasing CO2 through their calcification. READ MORE

5. Contaminants of Emerging Concern in Swedish Freshwater Environments: Sources, Occurrence, and Impacts
Abstract : Contaminants of emerging concern (CECs) is one of several reasons for the deterioration of surface water quality globally, even though the CECs occur in trace concentrations. This thesis produced new CEC data through a oneyear field study for substances which occur in Sweden’s three largest lakes and their associated rivers. READ MORE
