16. Manganese(salen) catalyzed epoxidation of alkenes
Abstract : This thesis deals the with steric and electronic effects inthe manganese(salen) catalyzed epoxidation of alkenes.Different methods were employed in the mechanisticinvestigations; molecular modelling, radical trapping, Hammettstudies on linear free-energy relationships and densityfunctional methods. 18. Design and stereoselective syntheses of Phe-Phe dipeptidomimetics
Abstract : Several stereochemically well characterized Phe-Phe dipeptidomimetics have been designed and synthesized. The Phe-Phe vinyl isostere was used as a key intermediate. The synthesized series of mimetics includes two isomeric epoxides, four 1,2-dihydroxyethylene isomers, two isomeric allylic alcohols and two isomeric allylic fluorides. READ MORE

19. Chemo-enzymatic epoxidation: Activity and stability of Candida antarctica lipase B
Abstract : Growing concerns about climate change and depleting fossil feedstocks are driving a shift within the chemical industry from energy-intensive processes to more environmentally sound and sustainable processing using renewable feedstocks. One such process is the utilization of lipases for the chemo-enzymatic epoxidation of vegetable oils and fatty acids. READ MORE

20. Synthesis of functionalized allylic, propargylic and allenylic compounds : Selective formation of C–B, C–C, C–CF3 and C-Si bonds
Abstract : This thesis is focused on the development of new palladium and copper- mediated reactions for functionalization of alkenes and propargylic alcohol derivatives. The synthetic utility of the 1,2-diborylated butadienes synthesized in one of these processes has also been demonstrated. READ MORE
