11. Homogenization of some new mathematical models in lubrication theory
Abstract : We consider mathematical modeling of thin film flow between two rough surfaces which are in relative motion. For example such flows take place in different kinds of bearings and gears when a lubricant is used to reduce friction and wear between the surfaces. READ MORE

12. Domain Decomposition and Preconditioned Iterative Methods for the Helmholtz Equation
Abstract : New preconditioned iterative solution methods for the Helmholtz equation are constructed. To evaluate the performance of the methods, two-dimensional problems with a waveguide geometry are used as model problems. Second- and fourth-order accurate finite difference discretizations are used. READ MORE

13. The Dynamic Behavior of Prices and Investment: Financial Constraints and Customer Markets
Abstract : Chapter II (with Nils Gottfries and Charlotte Bucht) explores the interaction between prices and investment. We construct a dynamic model of a financially constrained firm making pricing and investment decisions. READ MORE

14. Mesoscopic thin film superconductors - A computational framework
Abstract : Motivated by experiments on superconductors in the microscopic regime and the realization of small superconducting devices such as qubits, we initiate a computational project in the form of a numerical simulation package to model and predict the behavior of these type of systems. It is a multidisciplinary endeavor in that it employs theory, computational science, software design, and to some extent new visualization techniques. READ MORE

15. Mathematics teachers' conceptions about equations
Abstract : The aim of this study is to describe and to clarify the mathematics teachers’ subject matter and pedagogical content conceptions about equations. As the basis of these conceptions, the teachers’ experiences of the concept learning of equations from their own school time are described. READ MORE
