41. A weak space-time formulation for the linear stochastic heat equation
Abstract : The topic covered in this thesis is the introduction of a new formulation for the linear stochastic heat equation driven by additive noise, based on the space-time variational formulation for its deterministic counterpart. Having a variational formulation allows the use of the so called inf-sup theory in order to obtain results of existence and uniqueness in a relatively simple way. READ MORE

42. On integral equation methods of solution to eddy current interaction problems
Abstract : The eddy current method is used for nondestructive evaluation of conducting materials. To achieve a greater knowledge and insure safe and reliable evaluation methods, the use of mathematical models and simulations are needed. READ MORE

43. Finite element approximation of the linear stochastic Cahn-Hilliard equation
Abstract : The linearized Cahn-Hilliard-Cook equation is discretized in the spatial variables by a standard finite element method. Strong convergence estimates are proved under suitable assumptions on the covariance operator of the Wiener process, which is driving the equation. The backward Euler time stepping is also studied. 44. Finite element approximation of the deterministic and the stochastic Cahn-Hilliard equation
Abstract : This thesis consists of three papers on numerical approximation of the Cahn-Hilliard equation. The main part of the work is concerned with the Cahn-Hilliard equation perturbed by noise, also known as the Cahn-Hilliard-Cook equation. READ MORE

45. Some numerical and analytical methods for equations of wave propagation and kinetic theory
Abstract : This thesis consists of two different parts, related to two different fields in mathematical physics: wave propagation and kinetic theory of gases. Various mathematical and computational problems for equations from these areas are treated. READ MORE
