11. Essays on credit markets and banking
Abstract : This thesis consists of four self-contained papers related to banking, credit markets and financial stability. Paper [I] presents a credit market model and finds, using an agent based modeling approach, that credit crunches have a tendency to occur; even when credit markets are almost entirely transparent in the absence of external shocks. 12. Output feedback control : Some methods and applications
Abstract : This thesis studies some output feedback control laws. Particularly, iterative learning control (ILC) and decentralized network based algorithms are studied. Applications to control of wastewater treatment plants are outlined. READ MORE

13. Atomistic simulation techniques for modelling inorganic/organic interface and flotation collector design
Abstract : The choice of collector molecules in flotation process of mineral separation is invariably determined by tedious trial and error experimentation with inherent mounting expenditure. Here, we seek the help of atomistic simulation techniques, to help and judge the suitable collector molecule for selective mineral separation in flotation process, before actually conducting the experiment. 14. Atomistic simulation techniques for modelling inorganic/organic interface and flotation collector design
Abstract : The choice of collector molecules in flotation process of mineral separation is invariably determined by tedious trial and error experimentation with inherent mounting expenditure. Here, we seek the help of computational solid chemistry techniques, namely the atomistic simulation techniques, to help and judge the suitable collector molecule for selective mineral separation in flotation process, before actually conducting the experiment. 15. Sliding stability re-assessment of concrete dams with bonded concrete-rock interfaces
Abstract : The shear strength of the concrete-rock interface is an important parameter in sliding stability analyses of concrete dams founded on rock and depends, in addition to the normal stress state, on the bonding conditions of the interface; concrete-rock interfaces can be either unbonded, partially bonded or fully bonded. In the Swedish guidelines for dam safety all dam-foundation contacts are treated as unbonded.
