16. In situ gelling drug delivery systems for periodontal anaesthesia
Abstract : In this thesis local anaesthetic formulations based on PEO-PPO-PEO block copolymers (PEO and PPO being poly(ethylene oxide) and poly(propylene oxide), respectively) or nonionic cellulose ethers undergoing temperature- or dilution-induced thickening were investigated. The aim of the work was to develop formulations which can be easily administered to the periodontal pocket, stay at the application site, give a fast onset of anaesthesia and have a duration sufficient to perform periodontal scaling procedures. 17. Molecular dynamics and aggregation behaviour in aqueous polymer-drug model systems
Abstract : Pharmaceutical formulations often contain polymers used as binders, swelling agents, etc., to give the formulation mechanical stability or specific drug release features. Many drug substances, as well as polymers, are amphiphilic which will give an associative polymer-drug interaction, affecting the dissolution rate and drug release. READ MORE

18. Polymer Gels and their Interactions with Ionic Surfactants
Abstract : The response on chemically crosslinked gels and polymer solutions on the addition of ionic surfactants and/or addition of salt at different temperatures have been studied. All polymers studied are water soluble and slightly hydrophobic or hydrophobically modified. READ MORE

19. Cross-linking and surface properties of EHEC and Starch -a QCM-D study
Abstract : The increase of the green house gases and the crude oil price has resulted in a willingness to change the raw material in many industries from petroleum-based polymers to natural polymers. One such natural polymer is starch. Today, starch is used in the glue industry in wallpaper pastes. READ MORE

20. Consolidation and structure of paper coating and fibre systems
Abstract : Paper coatings or coating colours are high solidssuspensions that are applied to paper to improve chieflyprintability and optical properties. A paper coatingsuspension, including pigments, binders and thickeners, is acomplex system which must be understood if the end-useproperties of paper are to be improved. READ MORE
