26. Toward Realistic Failure Evaluations for Concrete Buttress Dams
Abstract : Concrete dams, complex structures supporting massive loads, have traditionally been assessed using simplified 2D analytical stability analyses based on the rigid body assumption. Previous studies have shown that 3D behavior, such as the interaction between the monoliths and the valley's geology, can greatly impact the load-bearing capacity of gravity dams but remains largely unexplored in buttress dams. 27. Experimental and computational evaluations of parallel spillway outlets
Abstract : Experiments and computational simulations have been performed as part of a larger project to instil trust in computational methods for design of hydraulics flows in spillways. Presented in this licenciate is one manuscript and two conference papers. READ MORE

28. Measuring Health : On the Theoretical Foundations of Health Status Evaluations
Abstract : This thesis is about the notions of health and pathology in medical theory. I develop a theory, which defines ‘health’ and ‘pathology’ in a way that solves several problems with earlier suggestions of how to define these terms. I call the theory ‘the disposition profile efficiency theory’, abbreviated ‘the DPE-theory’. READ MORE

29. Phase diagram evaluations and applications in light metal alloys
Abstract : A thermodynamic database for light alloys have been assessedusing the CALPHAD method. The database contains a newevaluation of aluminium rich alloys containing Fe, Mn and Si,and it may be used also for alloys containing small amounts ofMg. READ MORE

30. The role of economic evaluations in health care decision making
Abstract : Increasing health care expenditures, a rapid introduction of new medical technologies and a need for cost containment policies in most countries during the last decades have led to a growing interest in information from economic evaluations for decision making about resource allocation in health care. Economic evaluations can provide valuable information in many types of decision making, e. READ MORE
