    Abstract : Chronic exertional compartment syndrome (CECS) of the lower leg, defined as a condition with exercise-induced pain due to increased intramuscular pressure (IMP), has previously mainly been described in running athletes, and etiologic factors are poorly described.     Abstract : This thesis on intramuscular pressure (IMP) in the lower leg is concerned with two topics. The first of these is external compression; more specifically, the effect of compression stockings (CS).
