  1. 1. Studies on Pellicle and Early Dental Plaque in Relation to Periodontal Conditions

    Author : Stefan G Rüdiger; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; bacterial adherence; in vitro pellicle; in vivo pellicle; periodontitis-associated bacteria; gingival crevicular fluid; plasma proteins; dental biofilm; experimental gingivitis; chronic periodontitis; periodontal pocket; exposed root surfaces;

    Abstract : Background and Hypothesis: Bacterial receptors in dental pellicles may influence colonisation and subsequent plaque formation. Studies on such receptors in the dental pellicles and bacterial adherence have mostly been performed in vitro and focused on proteins of salivary origin. READ MORE

  2. 2. Root surface conditioning in periodontal treatment

    Author : Johan Blomlöf; Karolinska Institutet; Karolinska Institutet; []
    Keywords : citric acid; collagen; EDTL; etching; monkey; periodontal healing; periodolntitis; phosphoric acid; root planing; scanning electron microscopy; smearlayer; ultrasonic scaling; vitality. ISBN: 91-628-2646-8;

    Abstract : Marginal periodontal healing following both invasive and non-invasive therapies is influenced by a large number of systemic and local factors. In order to optimize healing, a lot of effort is put into minimizing possible sources of infection both in performing different periodontal therapies as well as during the healing period. READ MORE

  3. 3. Heavy metal removal by floating treatment wetlands: Plant selection

    Author : Maria Schück; Maria Greger; Åsa Danielsson; Stockholms universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Phytoremediation; Rhizofiltration; Heavy metal; Chloride; Floating treatment wetland; Wetland plants; Stormwater; Plant Physiology; växtfysiologi;

    Abstract : Elevated levels of heavy metals and chloride are commonly found in stormwater, as a consequence of pollution from traffic, building material and industries, and the use of salt for deicing in wintertime. Floating treatment wetlands (FTWs), consisting of vegetated rafts that can be placed in stormwater ponds, may be able to reduce heavy metal and chloride concentrations, but until this date have mainly been used for nutrient removal in warm climates. Author : Helena Fransson; Malmö högskola; []
    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; dentine; dental pulp capping; immunohistochemistry; enamel matrix proteins; bacteria; dental pulp exposure;

    Abstract : Det övergripande målet för avhandlingen har varit att studera några aspekter av läkningen av tandens huvudsakliga hårdvävnad, dentinet. Vid mycket djupa kariesangrepp där dentinet förstörts och pulpan därmed blottats, rotbehandlas ofta tanden vilket innebär att pulpan tas bort och att rotkanalen fylls med ett rotfyllningsmaterial.
