  1. 1. Uncertainty, variability and environmental risk analysis

    University dissertation from Växjö, Kalmar : Linnaeus University Press

    Author : Monika Filipsson; Tomas Öberg; Bo Bergbäck; Lars Rosén; [2011]
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Contaminated land; exposure assessment; exposure factors; risk analysis; risk perception; uncertainty; variability; probabilistic risk assessment; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; Miljövetenskap; Environmental Science;

    Abstract : The negative effects of hazardous substances and possible measures that can be taken are evaluated in the environmental risk analysis process, consisting of risk assessment, risk communication and risk management. Uncertainty due to lack of knowledge and natural variability are always present in this process. READ MORE

  2. 2. Occupational exposure during production of wood pellets in Sweden

    University dissertation from Örebro : Örebro universitet

    Author : Katja Hagström; Kåre Eriksson; Gunilla Lindström; Paul Demers; [2008]

    Abstract : The aims of the studies underlying this thesis were to assess workers’ air exposure to wood dust and various chemicals, and to evaluate the variability in exposure and occupational dermal exposure to resin acids during the production of wood pellets in Sweden. Personal air measurements of wood dust, monoterpenes, resin acids and nitrogen dioxide (as a marker of diesel exhaust), accompanied by area measurements of these substances, VOCs and carbon monoxide, were performed at up to ten plants.
