  1. 1. On the Textility of Smell in Spatial Design

    Author : Jyoti Kapur; Jo-Anne Bichard; Högskolan i Borås; []
    Keywords : HUMANIORA; HUMANITIES; HUMANIORA; HUMANITIES; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Textiles and Fashion Design ; Textil och mode konstnärlig ;

    Abstract : The ocular-centric approach predominant in the field of design, particularly textile and spatial design, focuses on visual aesthetics and visually mediated interactions. Whereas the non-visual materialities of a space, such as smells, are ignored in the design process, meaning that interior spaces with homogenously odourless environments lack interactions with the olfactory. 2. 2. Creating diverse colour-changing effects on textiles

    Author : Marjan Kooroshnia; Högskolan i Borås; []
    Keywords : HUMANIORA; HUMANITIES; dynamic textile patterns; leuco dye-based thermochromic inks; textile design; Smart textiles; Textiles and Fashion General ; Textil och mode generell ;

    Abstract : With the technological progress of materials science, the palette of colours with which to print on textiles has expanded beyond those with previously known properties and expressions to a new generation, with more advanced functionality and expressive properties. This new range of colours is characterised by their ability when printed on textiles to change colour in relation to external factors and internal programmes; for example, leuco dye-based thermochromic inks generally change colour in response to temperature fluctuations. 3. 3. Exterior Colours at Rural Dwellings in Southern Sweden during the 19th Century - To increase knowledge regarding local differentiations

    Author : Richard Kjellström; Bebyggelsevård; []
    Keywords : 19th century; local colour schemes; rural; Johan Jöran Öller; SEM analysis; cross-section; exterior colour; farmhouses; dwellings;

    Abstract : Abstract The project’s main objective is to verify the existence of local colours and colour schemes in the exteriors of buildings. The research focused on 19th century dwellings in the rural areas of southern Sweden. READ MORE

  4. 4. Stochastic epidemics on random networks and competition in growth

    Author : Carolina Fransson; Pieter Trapman; Daniel Ahlberg; Julia Komjathy; Stockholms universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; random graphs; branching processes; SIR epidemics; malthusian parameter; urn model; matematisk statistik; Mathematical Statistics;

    Abstract : The COVID-19 pandemic has dramatically demonstrated the importance of epidemic models in understanding and predicting disease spread and in assessing the effectiveness of interventions. The overarching topic of this thesis is stochastic epidemic modelling, with the main focus on the role of the underlying social structure in infectious disease spread. READ MORE

  5. 5. LOST IN LOCALISATION searching for exact results in supersymmetric gauge theories

    Author : Louise Anderson; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Extended Supersymmetry; Matrix Models; Large N-techniques; Supersymmetric Gauge Theory; Localisation; Topological Field Theory;

    Abstract : This thesis deals with one of the very basics of theoretical physics: computing observable quantities. In the language commonly used to describe the subatomic world, gauge theories, this problem is far from trivial as the observables are expressed in terms of infinite-dimensional integrals. READ MORE
