  1. 1. Fiber-laser-based noise-immune cavity-enhanced optical heterodyne molecular spectrometry

    Author : Aleksandra Foltynowicz; Ove Axner; Weidong Chen; Umeå universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; absorption spectrometry; frequency modulation; cavity enhancement; NICE-OHMS; Laser frequency stabilization; fiber laser; Fabry-Perot cavities; sub-Doppler spectroscopy; trace gas detection; Physics; Fysik; Molecular physics; Molekylfysik; fysik; Physics;

    Abstract : Noise-immune cavity-enhanced optical heterodyne molecular spectro-metry (NICE-OHMS) is one of the most sensitive laser-based absorption techniques. The high sensitivity of NICE-OHMS is obtained by a unique combination of cavity enhancement (for increased interaction length with a sample) with frequency modulation spectrometry (for reduction of noise). 2. 2. Solar cavity receiver design for a dish-Stirling system

    Author : Jorge Garrido Gálvez; Björn Laumert; Uwe Gampe; KTH; []
    Keywords : Concentrating Solar Power; Solar receiver; Solar simulator; Uncertainty analysis; Monte Carlo ray tracing; Experimental validation; Coatings; System modeling; Structural analysis; Creep damage; Thermal stress; Cavity receiver design; Energy Technology; Energiteknik;

    Abstract : The growing concern for the climate change has led to an increasing research effort in renewable energy technologies in order to achieve a more sustainable electricity production. Concentrating Solar Power (CSP) is identified as a promising technology to deal with part of the future electricity production. READ MORE

  3. 3. Strong light-matter coupling: from traditional to cavity-free polaritons

    Author : Adriana Canales Ramos; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Mie modes; cavity-free polaritons; Lorentz resonances; Polaritonic states; 2D-atomic crystals; ultrastrong coupling; strong coupling; Fabry-Pérot modes;

    Abstract : Polaritons are formed when light and matter interact strongly. For this to occur, photons and transitions in a material must exchange energy faster than the dissipation rate of the interacting components. Polaritons have shown the ability to change such material properties as photophysics, chemical reaction rates, transport, etc. READ MORE

  4. 4. Strong Light-Matter Coupling: the Road from Conventional to Cavity-Free Polaritons

    Author : Adriana Canales Ramos; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Fabry-Pérot microcavities; self-hybridized polaritons; Mie modes; Strong and ultrastrong coupling; Lorentz resonances; decay rates; cavity-free polaritons; Casimir force; 2D–crystals; plasmons; water droplets.; self-assembled microcavities;

    Abstract : The interaction between light and matter is fundamental in perceiving and understanding the world. The interaction is typically weak, meaning light only perturbs matter without changing its properties. READ MORE

  5. 5. Extended Jaynes-Cummings Models In Cavity Qed

    Author : Jonas Larson; Stig Stenholm; Peter L. Knight; KTH; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Physical chemistry; Optics; Optics; Optik;

    Abstract : Due to the improvement within cavity quantum electrodynamics experiments during the last decades, what was former seen as 'toy models' are today realized in laboratories. A controlled isolated coherent evolution of one or a few atoms coupled to a single mode inside a cavity is achievable. READ MORE
