21. Quantum Random Access Codes & their Applications
Abstract : Based on the principles of quantum mechanics, quantum information is a highly interesting and fast emerging field which refers to processing information encoded into the state of a quantum system and the subsequent use of such quantum systems for various information tasks. In this thesis, we have studied the role of single d-level quantum systems (qudits) as a quantum resource in the context of a communication task, commonly known as random access codes (RACs). 23. Stretched Membranes
Abstract : This thesis deals with relativistic membranes and, in particular, a limit called stretched membranes. The thesis also considers the relation of membranes to the conjectured M-theory and string theory. The thesis is divided into two parts. One introductory part where I introduce areas which are of relevance for the second part. READ MORE

24. Boundary and Interface Conditions for Electromagnetic Wave Propagation using FDTD
Abstract : Simulating electromagnetic waves is of increasing importance, for example, due to the rapidly growing demand of wireless communication in the fields of antenna design, photonics and electromagnetic compatibility (EMC). Many numerical and asymptotic techniques have been developed and one of the most common is the Finite-Difference Time-Domain (FDTD) method, also known as the Yee scheme. READ MORE
