  1. 1. The release of histone proteins from cells via extracellular vesicles

    University dissertation from Umeå : Umeå University

    Author : Uma Muthukrishnan; Umeå universitet.; [2018]
    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Histone; extracellular vesicles; exosomes; extracellular histones extracellular DNA; cellular stress; proteomics; ESCRT complex; Lrrn1; mid-hindbrain organizer; ovarian cancer; ascites;

    Abstract : Histones are chromatin-associated proteins localized to the nucleus. However, extracellular histones are present in biofluids from healthy individuals and become elevated under disease conditions, such as neurodegeneration and cancer. READ MORE

  2. 2. Proteins of the Inter-α-inhibitor Family Biosynthesis, Plasma Clearance and Interaction with Extracellular Matrix Components

    University dissertation from Uppsala : Acta Universitatis Upsaliensis

    Author : Aneta Kaczmarczyk; Uppsala universitet.; [2003]
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Biochemistry; bikunin; inter-α-inhibitor; pre-α-inhibitor; intracellular processing; plasma clearance; extracellular matrix; binding; collagen; Biokemi; NATURAL SCIENCES Chemistry Biochemistry; NATURVETENSKAP Kemi Biokemi; Medical Biochemistry; medicinsk biokemi;

    Abstract : Bikunin, a chondroitin sulfate-containing protein of 25 kDa, has protease inhibitory activity and occurs in the plasma in free and complexed form. In inter-α-inhibitor (IαI) and pre-a-inhibitor (PαI) it is covalently linked through its chondroitin sulfate (CS) chain to two or one other polypeptide of about 80 kDa – heavy chains 1 and 2 (H1, H2) and heavy chain 3 (H3) – respectively. 3. 3. Studies on extracellular matrix proteins in vascular disease

    University dissertation from Åsa Ström, Section for Connective Tissue Biology, BMC, C12, 221 84 Lund

    Author : Åsa Ström; Lunds universitet.; Lund University.; [2004]
    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Kardiovaskulära systemet; Cardiovascular system; smooth muscle cells; osteopontin; extracellular matrix; atherosclerosis;

    Abstract : Popular Abstract in Swedish Det är känt sedan tidigare att komponenter från blodkärlets bindväv på olika sätt kan påverka sjukdomstillstånd som uppkommer i kärlväggen. En av dessa sjukdomar är ateroskleros (åderförkalkning), som genom sina följdsjukdomar (hjärtinfarkt, kärlkramp, stroke mm) utgör den vanligaste dödsorsaken i västvärlden. READ MORE

    Abstract : Membrane protein dynamics is of great importance for living organisms. The precise localization of proteins composing a synapse on the membrane facing a nerve terminus is essential for proper functioning of the nervous system. In muscle fibers, the nicotinic acetylcholine is densely packed under the motor nerve termini. READ MORE
