  1. 1. Extracorporeal immunoadsorption

    Author : Christian Freiburghaus; Avdelningen för klinisk kemi och farmakologi; []
    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Immunology; Klinisk kemi; Clinical chemistry; tolerance induction; inhibitors; haemophilia; Extracorporeal immunoadsorption; antibody elimination; serology; transplantation; Immunologi; serologi;

    Abstract : Antibodies are important protein structures in the immunological defence. Occasionally the regulation of the production of these antibodies fails and antibodies directed against self structures are produced in large scale. Antibody production can also complicate or make transfusions and transplantations impossible. READ MORE

  2. 2. RADIOIMMUNOTHERAPY & EXTRACORPOREAL ADSORPTION Preclinical Studies of the Pharmacokinetics & Biotinylation of Radioimmunoconjugates in Immunocompetent Rats

    Author : Zhongmin Wang; Bröstcancer-genetik; []
    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; onkologi; cancer; oncology; cancerology; Cytologi; Cytology; extracorporeal adsorption; tri-functional chelator; maximal tolerable dose; biotin; intraperitoneal administration; biodistribution; pharmacokinetics; biotinylation; radiolabeling; rat; monoclonal antibody; radionuclide;

    Abstract : Extracorporeal adsorption (ECAT) is a novel strategy to reduce activity in whole body (WB), blood and radiosensitive organs by removing the excess of radiolabeled and biotinylated monoclonal antibody (MAb) from blood so that tumor/normal tissue ratio (T/N) could be improved. By increasing T/N, higher amounts of radiolabeled MAb might be administered, making it possible to treat disseminated carcinomas. READ MORE

  3. 3. High-Dose Radioimmunotherapy and Extracorporeal Depletion in A Syngeneic Rat Tumor Model

    Author : Linda Mårtensson; Bröstcancer-genetik; []
    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES;

    Abstract : ABSTRACT Radioimmunotherapy (RIT) consists of using monoclonal antibodies (mAbs) recognizing tumor-selective antigens, as carriers of cytotoxic radionuclides to tumor tissue. RIT has been effective in lymphoma but less successful in solid tumors. READ MORE

  4. 4. Improving radioimmunotargeting of tumors : the impact of extracorporeal immunoadsorption and preload in rats

    Author : Michael Garkavij; Bröstcancer-genetik; []
    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Cytology; preload.; immunoadsorption; MAb; rat; Tumor; radioimmunotargeting; oncology; cancerology; Cytologi; onkologi; cancer;

    Abstract : In radioimmunotherapy of tumors, uptake of the monoclonal antibody (MAb) used is often too low in relation to its uptake in normal tissues. The purpose of these studies was to improve experimental tumor radioimmunotargeting with (a) extracorporeal immunoadsorption (ECIA), where excess of radiolabeled MAbs circulating in blood is removed, (b) or by preload with unlabeled MAb prior to injection of radiolabeled MAb, (c) or by a combination of these. 5. 5. Clinical and Preclinical Lung Transplantation in the aspects of improving outcome

    Author : Haider Ghaidan; Thoraxkirurgi; []
    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES;

    Abstract : Lung transplantation (LTx) is an established therapeutic option for end-stage pulmonary disease. However, it remains restricted by donor lung scarcity. READ MORE
