1. Conodont biostratigraphy, taxonomy and palaeoecology in the Darriwilian (Middle Ordovician) of Baltoscandia - with focus on meteorite and extraterrestrial chromite-rich strata
Abstract : This thesis deals with conodont biostratigraphy and palaeoecology in the Darriwilian (Middle Ordovician) of Baltoscandia, with focus on limestone strata showing traces of the ~ 470 Ma L-chondrite parent body break-up. The evidence for this cosmic event includes abundant centimeter to decimeter-sized fossil meteorites and elevated levels of sediment-dispersed extraterrestrial L-type chromite found in a stratigraphical interval corresponding to the uppermost Lenodus antivariabilis, the L. 2. Traces in Earth's geological record of the break-up of the L-chondrite parent body 470 Ma
Abstract : This thesis deals with signatures in sediments on Earth related to the L-chondrite parent body break-up event at 470 Ma. The aim of this thesis is twofold: (1) investigate if the increased flux of extraterrestrial material to Earth, following the disruption of the L-chondrite parent body included larger, asteroid-sized bodies (2) try to develop new methods and tools for finding and classifying relict cosmic material in sediments. 3. Searching for Dyson spheres in the Milky Way
Abstract : The quest to find intelligent extraterrestrial life has captivated humanity for a long time, motivating the development of various strategies to search for signs of advanced civilizations. These strategies comprise multiple techniques and span different regions of the electromagnetic spectrum. READ MORE

4. Debris disks from an astronomical and an astrobiological viewpoint
Abstract : In this licentiate thesis, I consider debris disks from an observational, astronomical viewpoint, but also discuss a potential astrobiological application. Debris disks are essentially disks of dust and rocks around main-sequence stars, analogue to the Kuiper- or the asteroid belt in our solar system. READ MORE

5. Searching for an Ultra High-Energy Diffuse Flux of Extraterrestrial Neutrinos with IceCube 40
Abstract : Neutrino astronomy has the potential to greatly improve our understanding of the high-energy universe. An unresolved, diffuse, flux of neutrinos is sensitive to the properties of the population of cosmic accelerators in the universe. READ MORE
