6. Amyloid beta aggregation kinetics : The role of intrinsic and extrinsic factors
Abstract : Cerebral senile plaque is one of the main pathologies of Alzheimer's disease (AD). The amyloid cascade hypothesis suggests that the aggregation of amyloid beta (Abeta) peptide is involved in the pathogenesis of AD, which is supported by the fact that Abeta overexpression or production of more aggregation-prone variants lead to early-onset dementia. 7. Principal Word Vectors
Abstract : Word embedding is a technique for associating the words of a language with real-valued vectors, enabling us to use algebraic methods to reason about their semantic and grammatical properties. This thesis introduces a word embedding method called principal word embedding, which makes use of principal component analysis (PCA) to train a set of word embeddings for words of a language. 8. Modeling normal and malignant hematopoiesis in vitro. To screen for extrinsic regulators and differentiation therapy
Abstract : The incredible thing with blood stem cells, also known as hematopoietic stem cells (HSC), is that they can restore normal hematopoiesis in patients that need a new blood system. Since a prerequisite for successful transplantation is immune compatibility, it requires large donor registries to find a suitable match for a recipient. READ MORE

9. Ferromagnetic Resonance as a Probe of Magnetization Dynamics : A Study of FeCo Thin Films and Trilayers
Abstract : The high frequency dynamic magnetic responses of FeCo thin films and structures have been investigated mainly using ferromagnetic resonance (FMR) technique. The FMR resonance condition and linewidth are first derived from the dynamic Landau- Lifshitz-Gilbert equation, followed by a study of the conversion between FMR field and frequency linewidths. 10. High power bipolar junction transistors in silicon carbide
Abstract : As a power device material, SiC has gained remarkable attention to its high thermal conductivity and high breakdown electric field. SiC bipolar junction transistors (BJTs) are interesting for applications as power switch for 600 V-1200 V applications. READ MORE
