16. Passion for Participation : The Importance of Creating Support for Motivation
Abstract : This thesis provides a study of an open source software project that focuses on the software development of an e-service in a municipal context. The focus is on environmental factors that either limit or promote the motivation to participate in the open source project, the "Parent-Teacher Meeting" project, a web-based communication and information channel whose purpose is to enhance the contacts between schools and parents. 17. Defining Regulators of Human Hematopoietic Stem Cells
Abstract : Bone marrow transplantation (BMT) is a conceptual and elegant example of stem cell therapy, rendered possible by the dual capacity of hematopoietic stem cells (HSCs) to self-renew and differentiate. These defining features ultimately ensure the production of all blood cell lineages and simultaneous maintenance of the stem cell pool, thereby maintaining lifelong homeostasis. READ MORE

18. Modeling normal and malignant hematopoiesis in vitro. To screen for extrinsic regulators and differentiation therapy
Abstract : The incredible thing with blood stem cells, also known as hematopoietic stem cells (HSC), is that they can restore normal hematopoiesis in patients that need a new blood system. Since a prerequisite for successful transplantation is immune compatibility, it requires large donor registries to find a suitable match for a recipient. READ MORE

19. Integrating extrinsic and intrinsic cues to guide cell fate decisions : rational approaches in stem cell engineering
Abstract : The long-term goal of stem cell engineering is to generate functional cells for cell replacement therapies, disease modelling and in drug development assays. It is evident that one of the major challenges in stem cell research is to develop reproducible methods to obtain well-defined and pure populations of clinically relevant cell types in a sustainable manner. 20. Intrinsic and extrinsic mechanisms for B-cell lymphoma development and progression studied by global gene expression profiling
Abstract : Mantle cell lymphoma (MCL) is a rare hematopoietic malignancy characterized by frequent relapses and poor survival, partly due to minimal residual disease, whereby a subset of malignant cells, harbored in protective niches, survive treatment. In vitro and ex vivo experiments have shown that MCL cells can be rescued from apoptosis through interactions with non- malignant cells such as stromal cells. READ MORE
