1. DISCO - Drivers and Impacts of Coastal Ocean Acidification
Abstract : Ocean acidification, mainly attributed to the increasing anthropogenic CO2 in the atmosphere, is characterised by a lowering pH together with a shift in the sea water carbonate chemistry toward lower concentration of carbonate ions. On the coasts, where the environmental variability is high due to natural and human impacts, ocean acidification mainly affects the frequency, magnitude, and duration of lower pH and lower calcium carbonate saturation events. 2. Reproductive strategies and liming responses in forest field-layer flora
Abstract : Liming increased species richness, in accordance with the species pool hypothesis, and number of plants of individual species in beech forest field-layer vegetation, by increasing establishment by seedlings and vegetative offspring. Turnover rates also increased, suggesting the explanatory value of the carousel model. READ MORE

3. Brownification of freshwaters - the role of dissolved organic matter and iron
Abstract : The term brownification refers to the trend of increasing water color, i.e. the water becoming browner, which has been observed throughout the northern hemisphere over the last decades. Brownification has both ecological and societal implications. READ MORE

4. Regional Nutrient Budgets in Forest Soils in a Policy Perspective
Abstract : Sweden's forests are one of its most important natural resources, as well as being important from ecological and social perspectives. Nutrient sustainability is essential to maintain the production capacity and reduce the effects of acidification and eutrophication. READ MORE

5. Levosimendan in early experimental sepsis: effects on the heart and hepatosplanchnic circulation
Abstract : Sepsis-related cardiovascular dysfunction associated with fluid-unresponsive tissue hypoperfusion might require inotropic treatment. This cardiovascular dysfunction seems to involve calcium desensitization and adrenergic unresponsiveness. READ MORE
