    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; physical geography; Geology; stromatoporoids; facies analysis; palaeobiology; Reefs; biostromes; Geologi; fysisk geografi;

    Abstract : Reef biostromes and related facies from the upper part of Wenlock and from Ludlow were investigated in order to account for their formation, their palaeoecology and biology. In the Hemse Group of Ludlow age, all studied biostromes comprise a low diversity fauna where one or few species dominates. READ MORE

  2. 2. Silurian Carbonate Platforms of Gotland, Sweden - Archives of Local, Regional and Global Environmental Changes

    Abstract : This thesis treats the Silurian carbonate platforms of Gotland, Sweden, which formed close to the equator within the East Baltic Basin. Three different time intervals, all involving changes in facies composition and structure of the platforms, have been studied; Late Homerian, latest Homerian ? earliest Gorstian, and late Ludfordian, respectively. 3. 3. The crustal architecture of the central Skellefte district, Sweden : Structural analysis, setting of VMS deposits and 3D-modelling

    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Malmgeologi; Ore Geology;

    Abstract : The Skellefte district in northern Sweden is a Palaeoproterozoic volcanic arc hosting abundant volcanogenic massive sulphide (VMS) deposits. The dominating rocks in the district are submarine volcanic and volcaniclastic rocks of the Skellefte Group deposited in an extensional regime at 1.89–1.88 Ga. READ MORE

  4. 4. Testing Tectonic Concepts in the Seve Nappe Complex, Jämtland, Sweden

    Abstract : When continental plates collide, one of the involved continents is subducted beneath the other one. As a consequence, the lithosphere thickens along the convergent plate boundary and causes the formation of a mountain belt. READ MORE

  5. 5. Late Ordovician-Early Silurian facies development and stratigraphy of Jämtland, central Sweden

    Abstract : This thesis is based on studies of Lower Palaeozoic sedimentary successions within the central Scandinavian Caledonides. These deposits have been transported by considerable nappe displacement (several kilometres), and are today relatively isolated from the nearest coeval outcrops (Dalarna 250 km, Oslo Region 350 km).
