  1. 1. Analysis of drugs and proteins in biological matrices, using different types of sample preparations and mass spectrometry

    Author : Aljona Saleh; Ingrid Granelli; Jonas Bergquist; Stockholms universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Bioanalysis; drugs; proteins; liquid chromatography; two-dimensional liquid chromatography; mass spectrometry; Analytical Chemistry; analytisk kemi;

    Abstract : This thesis describes bioanalysis of small and large molecules in biological matrices and includes screening of illegal drugs in urine with high resolution mass spectrometer, bioanalysis of MTH1 inhibitors in mice plasma and quantification of proteins in plasma and cell lysates.Screening of illegal drugs was based on high resolving power mass spectrometer (QTOF) and the results were compared to immunoassays. 2. 2. Managing and Exploring Large Data Sets Generated by Liquid Separation - Mass Spectrometry

    Author : Daniel Bäckström; Per Sjöberg; Rolf Danielsson; Thomas Moritz; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : Analytical chemistry; liquid chromatography; capillary electrophoresis; capillary electrochromatography; mass spectrometry; electro spray ionization; chemometrics; multivariate data analysis; peptide; biomarkers; fingerprints; PCA; alignment; data compression; ANOVA; target correlation; data management; Analytisk kemi;

    Abstract : A trend in natural science and especially in analytical chemistry is the increasing need for analysis of a large number of complex samples with low analyte concentrations. Biological samples (urine, blood, plasma, cerebral spinal fluid, tissue etc. READ MORE

  3. 3. Extraction and chromatography of bioactive compounds in complex samples using supercritical CO2 technology

    Author : Said Alhamimi; Centrum för analys och syntes; []
    Keywords : Supercritical CO2; Chromatography; Extraction; Mass transfer; Solubility;

    Abstract : Bioactive compounds found in plants have been of interest to man since ancient times. These compounds have the ability to modulate the metabolic processes in our bodies, which suggests that they may promote better health. Bioactive compounds vary in their chemical structure, polarity, stability and biological activity. READ MORE

  4. 4. Packed Column Supercritical Fluid Chromatography : Applications in Environmental Chemistry

    Author : Nicole Riddell; Bert van Bavel; Robert McCrindle; Ingrid Ericson Jogsten; Jake Ryan; Örebro universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Supercritical Fluid Chromatography; Mass Spectrometry; Ionization; POPs; APPI; APCI; chiral; achiral; packed column;

    Abstract : Although gas and liquid chromatography have emerged as dominant separation techniques in environmental analytical chemistry, these methods do not allow for the concurrent analysis of chemically diverse groups of persistent organic pollutants (POPs). There are also a small number of compounds which are not easily amenable to either of these traditional separation techniques. READ MORE

  5. 5. Speciation analysis of butyl- and phenyltin compounds in environmental samples by GC separation and atomic spectrometric detection

    Author : Dong Nguyen Van; Wolfgang Frech; Anders Cedergren; Erwin Rosenberg; Umeå universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Organotin speciation analysis; species-specific isotope dilution; inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry; single isotope spike; multi-isotope spike; redistribution; species transformation; preparative liquid chromatography; gas chromatography; line source atomic absorption spectrometry; continuum source atomic absorption spectrometry; Analytical chemistry; Analytisk kemi;

    Abstract : The main goal of the work presented in this thesis is to improve the reliability of existing methods for speciation analysis of organotin compounds Species-specific isotope dilution (SSID) calibration in combination with gas chromatography – inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry was used to investigate the transformation of phenyltin species during sample preparation. Isotope-enriched phenyltin species were synthesized from corresponding isotope-enriched tin metals. READ MORE
