  1. 1. Hot-carrier extraction in nanowires

    Author : Jonatan Fast; NanoLund: Centre for Nanoscience; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Nanowire; Hot carrier; photovoltaic; Thermoelectric; Fysicumarkivet A:2023:Fast;

    Abstract : A hot-carrier solar cell aims to generate power from energetic, photoexcited, charge carriers, so called hot carriers, in order to reach higher conversion efficiencies than current solar cell technology.Creating a hot-carrier solar cell has proven challenging for two main reasons: hot carriers lose their energy very quickly, and they need to be extracted over distances of a few hundrednanometers via energy selective filters. 2. 2. Emittance preservation and luminosity tuning in future linear colliders

    Author : Peder Eliasson; Tord Ekelöf; Grahame Blair; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; linear colliders; CLIC; ILC; emittance preservation; luminosity tuning; beam-based alignment; dispersion free steering; tuning bumps; trajectory feedback; static imperfections; dynamic imperfections; jitter; ground motion; ATL model; multi-pulse emittance; curved tunnel; Elementary particle physics; Elementarpartikelfysik;

    Abstract : The future International Linear Collider (ILC) and Compact Linear Collider (CLIC) are intended for precision measurements of phenomena discovered at the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) and also for the discovery of new physics. In order to offer optimal conditions for such experiments, the new colliders must produce very-high-luminosity collisions at energies in the TeV regime. READ MORE

  3. 3. Tunable superconducting transmissionline resonator for qubit coupling

    Author : Martin Sandberg; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; fast tuning; superconductivity; transmission line; SCB; Josephson inductance.; Frequency tunable resonator; SQUID; CPW; aluminium;

    Abstract : In this licentiate thesis design, fabrication, and measurements of tunable superconducting microwave transmission line resonators are described. The resonators are of quarter wavelength type were the tuning is achieved by changing one of the boundary conditions of the resonator through a tunable impedance. READ MORE

  4. 4. Fast dynamics and measurements of single-charge devices

    Author : Fredrik Persson; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; resonator; single-electron box; superconducting devices; decoherence; quantum capacitance; Sisyphus resistance; transmon; single-Cooper-pair box; qubit; rf-reflectometry;

    Abstract : In this thesis we present measurements on several different devices, including the single-Cooper-pair box (SCB), the single-electron box, tunable superconducting resonators and so called transmon qubits.By exploiting the quantum capacitance of the SCB, its state was measured by embedding the box in a radio-frequency resonator. 5. 5. Relay Feedback and Multivariable Control

    Author : Karl Henrik Johansson; Institutionen för reglerteknik; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; robotics; Automation; Frequency methods; Process control; Sequential control; Automatic tuning; Control education; Laboratory process; Performance limitations; Decentralized control; Multivariable zero; Multivariable systems; Hybrid control; Nonlinear dynamics; Limit cycles; Oscillations; Relay feedback; Sliding modes; control engineering; Automatiska system; robotteknik; reglerteknik;

    Abstract : This doctoral thesis treats three issues in control engineering related to relay feedback and multivariable control systems. Linear systems with relay feedback is the first topic. Such systems are shown to exhibit several interesting behaviors. READ MORE
