6. Applications of hydrodynamic forces for membrane chromatography
Abstract : Membrane proteins are proteins that reside in the cell membrane. Due to their position in the cell membrane, the barrier between the cell interior and exterior, they are vital to cell signaling. Moreover, the presence of membrane proteins in the cell's signaling pathways make membrane proteins important drug targets. READ MORE

7. Hydrodynamic flow for deterministic sorting of cell-membrane components
Abstract : The biological membrane, an amphiphilic structure that is the barrier between the cell interior and exterior, is one of the vital building blocks of all cells. Not only does it define the outer boundaries of the cell, it also carries important biological function by virtue of the proteins and other molecules that constitute the membrane, the function of which is in turn intimately coupled to their association with the lipid-based membrane. 8. Show me love : Emergent strategic communication practices and fan engagement within the popular music industry
Abstract : This thesis studies how the music industry’s strategic communication practices interplay with and steer audience and fan engagement. Relationships with, and expectations on, “active”, “prosuming” or “co-creative” music audiences make it imperative for communication practitioners to produce engagement. READ MORE

9. Durability evaluation of PEM fuel cell components
Abstract : Proton exchange membrane fuel cells (PEMFCs) are used to convert hydrogen and oxygen to electricity, heat, and water. There are no greenhouse gas emissions, given that the hydrogen is produced from renewable sources, such as water electrolysis from wind, hydro or solar energy. READ MORE

10. Fast neutron dosimetry : a study of basic dosimetric properties of fast-neutrons for external beam radiotherapy and problems associated with corrections of measured charged particle cross-sections
Abstract : Basic dosimetric properties of fast-neutron beams with energies ≤80 MeV were explored using Monte Carlo techniques. Elementary pencil-beam dose distributions taking into account transport of all relevant types of released charged particles (protons, deuterons, tritons, 3He and a particles) were calculated and used to derive several absorbed dose distributions.
