  1. 1. Statistical Feature Selection : With Applications in Life Science

    Author : Roland Nilsson; Jesper Tegnér; Johan Björkegren; Sepp Hochreiter; Linköpings universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Machine learning; supervised learning; classification; dimemsionality reduction; multiple testing; gene expression; microarray; cancer; Bioinformatics; Bioinformatik;

    Abstract : The sequencing of the human genome has changed life science research in many ways. Novel measurement technologies such as microarray expression analysis, genome-wide SNP typing and mass spectrometry are now producing experimental data of extremely high dimensions. READ MORE

  2. 2. On Detection and Estimation of Multiple Sources in Radar Array Processing

    Author : Jonny Eriksson; Chalmers University of Technology; []
    Keywords : spatially correlated noise; Cramer-Rao bounds; estimation; feature reduction; virtual uniform linear arrays; classification; adaptive data reduction; nonlinear weighted least squares; multiple targets; detection;

    Abstract : This thesis deals with detection and estimation problems in sensor array signal processing. We treat the multiple hypothesis problem for complex sinusoids observed in spatially colored noise. READ MORE

  3. 3. Structure-acoustic analysis; finite element modelling and reduction methods

    Author : Peter Davidsson; Byggnadsmekanik; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Mechanical engineering; hydraulics; vacuum technology; vibration and acoustic engineering; Maskinteknik; hydraulik; vakuumteknik; vibrationer; akustik; low frequency range; building acoustics; lightweight structures; porous materials; modal reduction; substructuring; finite element analysis; structural acoustics; vibroacoustics; Structural dynamics;

    Abstract : This thesis investigates structure-acoustic systems by use of finite element analysis. The systems studied here are limited to those that consist of an enclosed acoustic fluid cavity, which is coupled to a flexible structure and/or a porous sound absorbing material domain. READ MORE

  4. 4. Protein Engineering on Azurin. Expression Mutagenesis and Characterisation of Copper Site Mutants

    Author : B Göran Karlsson; Chalmers University of Technology; []
    Keywords : EPR spectroscopy; cassette mutagenesis; optical spectroscopy; amino acid exchange; Escherichia coli; electron transfer; reduction; azurin;

    Abstract : Azurin belongs to a family of small blue copper proteins or cupredoxins which participate in electron transfer processes in plants and bacteria. The type 1 copper site in these proteins is characterised by an intense blue colour, a narrow hyperfine coupling in the EPR signal and, generally, a high reduction potential. READ MORE

  5. 5. Noise reduction of hydraulic systems : design considerations and methods

    Author : Andreas Johansson; Linköpings universitet; []
    Keywords : ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY;

    Abstract : AS A CONSEQUENCE OF increased requirements concerning pleasant working conditions, the system designer of today is facing challenges besides the traditional performance related ones. Subjects such as cleanliness, low sound and vibration levels etc. play important roles in modern system development. READ MORE
