  1. 6. Feeding cassava foliage to sheep : nutrient properties and hydrogen cyanide toxicity

    Author : Khuc Thi Hue; Sveriges lantbruksuniversitet; Sveriges lantbruksuniversitet; []
    Keywords : LANTBRUKSVETENSKAPER; AGRICULTURAL SCIENCES;

    Abstract : The potential of cassava foliage (Manihot esculenta Crantz) as a protein-rich feed in sheep production in Vietnam was examined by studying cassava foliage yield, hydrogen cyanide (HCN) content, toxicity and performance of lambs fed the foliage as a supplement. Cassava foliage fed ad libitum as a protein supplement to a basal diet of urea-treated rice straw gave similar lamb live weight gain (LWG) as diets supplemented with commercial concentrate or protein-rich foliage of stylosanthes (Stylosanthes guianensis) or jackfruit (Artocarpus heterophyllus). 2. 7. Induced responses in willow determine feeding success of a gall-forming insect

    Author : Solveig Höglund; Sveriges lantbruksuniversitet; Sveriges lantbruksuniversitet; []
    Keywords : LANTBRUKSVETENSKAPER; AGRICULTURAL SCIENCES;

    Abstract : In the willow Salix viminalis L. (Salicaceae), growth and defence are key responses determining feeding success of the gall midge Dasineura marginemtorquens Bremi (Diptera: Cecidomyiidae). The interaction includes induced growth (gall formation), and induced defence (hypersensitive response, HR). READ MORE

  3. 8. Aspects of feeding patterns in the first two years of life in Iranian infants

    Author : Beheshteh Olang; Karolinska Institutet; Karolinska Institutet; []
    Keywords : ;

    Abstract : Background: The unique way of providing infants with a perfect nutrition necessary for good growth and development is breastfeeding. Exclusive breastfeeding for the first 6 months is recommended by the World Health Organization. READ MORE

  4. 9. EM Design for New Ultra Wide Band Technologies: Eleven Feed Baluns, Bowtie Antennas and Gap Waveguides

    Author : Syed Hasan Raza Zaidi; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Ultra-wideband; Eleven feed; gap waveguide; baluns; Multiport feeding network; power divider; ring hybrid.; packaging;

    Abstract : UWB (ultra wideband), depending on the application requirement, is usually referred to more than 500 MHz bandwidth for radio/wireless applications. Here in this thesis it is also used to denote extremely wideband antennas and components of several octaves bandwidth, particularly for high frequency applications. READ MORE

  5. 10. Baluns, Hybrids and Power Dividers for Ultra- Wideband Antennas

    Author : Syed Hasan Raza Zaidi; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Multiport feeding network; baluns; packaging; power divider; Ultra-wideband; Eleven feed; gap waveguide; ring hybrid.;

    Abstract : UWB (ultra wideband), depending on the application requirement, is usually referred to 2:1 bandwidth for radio/wireless applications. Here in this thesis it is also used to denote extremely wideband antenna and components at several octave bandwidth, particularly for high frequency applications, such as the 1 – 10 GHz antenna system needed for the Square Kilometer Array (SKA) radio telescope and the 2 – 14 GHz antenna system for the VLBI2010 (Very Long Base line Interferometer) project.
