  1. 21. Experimental study of phase separation in Fe-Cr based alloys

    Author : Jing Zhou; John Ågren; Joakim Odqvist; Peter Hedström; Andersson Marcus; KTH; []
    Keywords : Duplex stainless steels; Ferritic stainless steels; Spinodal decomposition; Phase separation; Atom probe tomography; Clustering; Radial distribution function RDF ;

    Abstract : Duplex stainless steels (DSSs) are important engineering materials due to their combination of good mechanical properties and corrosion resistance. However, as a consequence of their ferrite content, DSSs are sensitive to the so-called ‘475°C embrittlement’, which is induced by phase separation, namely, the ferrite decomposed into Fe-rich ferrite (α) and Cr-rich ferrite (α'), respectively. Abstract : Solid oxide fuel cells (SOFCs) are attracting increasing interest as devices with potentialuses in decentralized and clean electricity and heat production. Several challengeswith respect to materials have to be overcome to achieve efficiencies and life-spansthat are sufficient for long-term applications. READ MORE

  4. 24. Corrosion of ferritic stainless steels used in solid oxide fuel cells - Investigation of novel coatings in single- and dual-atmosphere conditions

    Author : Matthieu Tomas; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Copper; Interconnect; Coatings; Alumina; Dual Atmosphere; Area-Specific Resistance; SOFC; Corrosion;

    Abstract : Solid Oxide Fuel Cells (SOFCs) are systems that convert chemical energy into electrical energy. Their high electrical efficiency and clean emissions (when H2 is used as fuel) make them a strong candidate for replacing conventional conversion systems, such as combustion engines. READ MORE

  5. 25. Plastic Deformation of Duplex Stainless Steel

    Author : Magnus Nyström; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; stainless steel; microstructure; plastic zones; impact toughness; anisotropy; prestraining; annealing; fractography; fatigue;

    Abstract : Duplex austenitic/ferritic stainless steels are increasingly used as an alternative to conventional austenitic grades. Main advantages of the duplex grades are good resistance to corrosion cracking and corrosion fatigue in environments that contain chloride. READ MORE
