  1. 1. Continuous-filtering Vernier spectroscopy

    Author : Chuang Lu; Aleksandra Foltynowicz; Ove Axner; Wei Ren; Umeå universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; spectroscopy; spectrometer; laser; optical frequency comb; optical cavity; NIR; MIR; flame; robust; time resolution; spectrum; fysik; Physics;

    Abstract : Continuous-filtering Vernier spectroscopy (CF-VS) is a laser-based detection technique that combines the broad spectral coverage of an optical frequency comb (OFC) with the enhanced interaction length provided by an optical cavity. The resonances of the cavity filter the OFC to a small group of comb modes that probe the transitions of the species present in the cavity. READ MORE

  2. 2. Mathematical and Experimental Study on Filtration of Solid Inclusions from Molten Aluminium and Steel

    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Filtration; Porous Media; Permeability; Water modeling; Fluid Bypassing; Stacked Filters; Ceramic Foam Filter; Monolithic Ceramic Filter; Alumina CFF; Particle Tracing; Aluminum Filtration; Steel Filtration; CFD; Alumina Inclusion; Filtrering; porösa medier; permeabilitet; vattenmodellering; vätskebypass; staplade filter; keramiskt skumfilter; monolitiskt keramiskt filter; aluminiumoxid CFF; partikelspårning; aluminiumfiltrering; stålfiltrering; CFD; aluminiumoxidinkludering; Materials Science and Engineering; Teknisk materialvetenskap;

    Abstract : Aluminum and steel have been the most produced metal and alloy, respectively, for many years. Their extensive use in various industries, their fundamental role in our everyday life, and their excellent recycling characteristics are the major driving forces for development of their production towards more sustainable processes. 3. 3. Physicochemical Treatment of Municipal Wastewater : From Direct Membrane Filtration to Adsorption of Organic Micropollutants

    Author : Simon Gidstedt; Avdelningen för kemiteknik; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Direkt membranfiltrering; Granulärt aktivt kol; Avloppsvatten; Kemisk förbehandling; Mikrosilning; Direct membrane filtration; Granular activated carbon; Wastewater; Chemically enhanced primary treatment; Microsieving;

    Abstract : Pharmaceutical residues and other organic micropollutants are transported via municipal wastewater to wastewater treatment plants (WWTPs). However, current treatment processes are not designed to remove organic micropollutants, and several such compounds have been found in recipients, where they can have negative effects on aquatic organisms. 4. 4. Water purification using polyelectrolyte modified cellulose fibers and filters to adsorb bacteria

    Author : Anna Ottenhall; Monica Ek; Joydeep Dutta; Emma Strömberg; KTH; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Bacterial adsorption; cellulose filter; Layer-by-Layer; water treatment; Fiber- och polymervetenskap; Fibre and Polymer Science;

    Abstract : Clean water is necessary for human survival and there is a need for development of cheap and easy water purification techniques to use in emergency situations when there is no access to safe drinking water. Bacteria contaminated water can cause lethal diarrheal diseases and is globally the second most common cause of death among children less than five years of age. READ MORE

  5. 5. Performance and Implementation Aspects of Nonlinear Filtering

    Author : Gustaf Hendeby; Fredrik Gustafsson; Petar Djurić; Linköpings universitet; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; particle filtering; nonlinear filtering; fault detection; Cramer-Rao lower bound; Kullback divergence; intrinsic accuracy; Automatic control; Reglerteknik;

    Abstract : I många fall är det viktigt att kunna få ut så mycket och så bra information som möjligt ur tillgängliga mätningar. Att utvinna information om till exempel position och hastighet hos ett flygplan kallas för filtrering. I det här fallet är positionen och hastigheten exempel på tillstånd hos flygplanet, som i sin tur är ett system. READ MORE
