2. Lithium-ion Battery Safety - Assessment by Abuse Testing, Fluoride Gas Emissions and Fire Propagation
Abstract : Lithium-ion batteries offer high energy and power densities as well as long life time but have a more narrow stability window compared to other battery types and contain reactive and flammable materials. In case of overheating the battery cell can release gas (vent) and, at temperatures of about 150-200 °C, a so called thermal runaway can occur, that is a rapid self-heated temperature increase which is typically accompanied with a large release of smoke and gas, fire and a potential cell case explosion or gas explosion. 3. Determination of Material Properties for Fire Modelling
Abstract : Fire and flame spread are very complex phenomenon to study. Several aspects need to be considered and treated. In order to be able to do a correct analysis of the flame spread phenomenon, which is necessary to be able to predict flame spread, knowledge of material properties are needed. Material properties can be obtained in different ways. READ MORE

4. The Development of a European Fire Classification System for Building Products - Test Methods and Mathematical Modelling
Abstract : The fire technical properties of products are determining factors for the initiation and growth of fires. Measurement of fire technical properties and the understanding of how they relate to real hazards are therefore important for fire safety. READ MORE

5. Water mist fire protection systems : The development of testing procedures for marine and heritage applications
Abstract : Modern, commercial water mist fire protection system technology evolved at the beginning of the 1990s due a need to replace halon fire-extinguishing systems and improve fire safety on passenger ships. This thesis documents the unknown water mist system development work by two Swedish companies during the 1970s and 1980s. READ MORE
