  1. 1. Reconfigurable-Hardware Accelerated Stream Aggregation

    Author : Prajith Ramakrishnan Geethakumari; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Stream; Reconfigurable Computing; Aggregation; Dataflow; FPGA; Memory Hierarchy; Compression;

    Abstract : High throughput and low latency stream aggregation is essential for many applications that analyze massive volumes of data in real-time. Incoming data need to be stored in a single sliding-window before processing, in cases where incremental aggregations are wasteful or not possible at all. READ MORE

  2. 2. Efficient implementation of stream applications on processor arrays

    Author : Jerker Bengtsson; Högskolan i Halmstad; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Parallel processing; reconfigurable architectures; stream processing; baseband; Computer engineering; Datorteknik;

    Abstract : This thesis concludes work conducted on exploring the usage of parallel and reconfigurable processor architectures in industrial high-performance embedded systems. This kind of systems has by tradition been built using a mix of digital signal processors and custom made hardware. READ MORE

  3. 3. Effects of fine woody debris on juvenile brown trout (Salmo trutta) and drifting invertebrates

    Author : Åsa Enefalk; Eva Bergman; Siân Griffiths; Karlstads universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; brown trout; juvenile; stream; woody debris; invertebrates; fine woody debris; Biology; Biologi;

    Abstract : In boreal forest streams, woody debris is an important habitat component. Stream invertebrates and salmonids such as brown trout benefit from in-stream wood. READ MORE

  4. 4. Effects of wood ash on freshwater organisms and aquatic forest ecosystems

    Author : K. Andreas Aronsson; Nils Ekelund; Thomas Palo; Olli-Pekka Penttinen; Mittuniversitetet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Wood ash; Euglena gracilis; Gammarus pulex; Fontinalis antipyretica; pH; alkalinity; toxicity; nutrients; first order stream; Askåterföring; Vedaska; Akvatiska näringssystem; Mineralnäring; Biology; Biologi;

    Abstract : Wood ash application (WAA) has been recommended mainly for two reasons; i) to avoid depletion of minerals in the soil due to whole tree harvest in the forestry and ii) to mitigate harmful effects of acidification of soil and surface waters. In conclusion, the effects on terrestrial ecosystems and, especially, tree growth, can be attributed to the properties of the ash, the dose applied and the specific site at which the ash is applied. 5. 5. Integrating Visual Data Flow Programming with Data Stream Management

    Author : Lars Melander; Tore Risch; Sharma Chakravarthy; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; data stream management; data stream visualization; visual data flow programming; LabVIEW; Datavetenskap med inriktning mot databasteknik; Computer Science with specialization in Database Technology;

    Abstract : Data stream management and data flow programming have many things in common. In both cases one wants to transfer possibly infinite sequences of data items from one place to another, while performing transformations to the data. READ MORE
