1. Indoor emissions and fate of flame retardants : A modelling approach
Abstract : A significant number of consumer goods and building materials act as emission sources of flame retardants (FRs) in the indoor environment. As a result, FRs have become ubiquitous indoors raising concerns about human exposure and possible health implications. READ MORE

2. Computational strategies in flame-spread modelling involving wooden surfaces
Abstract : Various approaches to flame-spread and fire-growth modelling are discussed and are evaluated using experimental results from different tests. Use of Computational Fluid Dynamics, CFD, in fire modelling is discussed and the performance of different CFD codes in wall flow modelling is analysed. READ MORE

3. Modelling effects of flame development on stationary and oscillating premixed turbulent combustion
Abstract : The vast majority of contemporary models of premixed turbulent flames applied to multi-dimensional RANS numerical simulations of combustion in gas turbine engines and aero-engine afterburners focus on fully-developed flames, characterized by fully-developed turbulent diffusivity, thickness, and burning velocity. However, abundant experimental data obtained from statistically stationary premixed flames clearly show that a typical turbulent flame develops as it is convected by mean flow from a stabilization zone. 4. Numerical Modelling of Fuel Injection and Stratified Turbulent Combustion in a Direct-Injection Spark-Ignition Engine Using an Open Source Code
Abstract : Stringent regulations on the emission of pollutants, especially carbon dioxide (CO2), necessitate the development of advanced combustion technologies. Gasoline direct injection (GDI) into the combustion chamber of a Spark Ignition (SI) engine is a combustion strategy that is widely recognized as having the potential to improve fuel efficiency of internal combustion engines for passenger cars.
